Meroddi Bagdatliyan Hotel

The front desk service attitude was terrible, impatient and perfunctory (this was felt on the first day of check-in). We waited in the lobby for 20 minutes before someone took us to the room before we checked in. The room was very small and there was nothing outside the window. The scenery is remarkable. We accidentally broke our mobile phone while walking up the stairs because the cleaning staff did not put any signs when cleaning the stairs with soapy water. The stairs are high steps like those in European-style buildings, and the tiles are very slippery. In addition to the smashed mobile phone and skin trauma, I tried to negotiate with the hotel for half a month but still received no compensation. We tried to safeguard our rights and get in touch with the manager from the first day we stayed at the hotel, but the front desk kept delaying and delayed. The hotel's WhatsApp phone couldn't be reached, and no manager took the initiative to contact us. In the end, our compensation was 20% off our next stay😅I want to ask who will come again. I advise all foreigners not to stay at this kind of hotel that doesn't care if something goes wrong. Not treated equally. Moreover, this hotel is located on a large slope. It is relatively close to Independence Street and has to climb up and down to get to the old city. The interior space of the hotel is small, the lights are dim, the bathroom leaks, and we even charged 1,000 lire for room service with two lunch boxes (picture 2). You can definitely go to a better hotel at the same price.

Convenient location of the hotel, about 3 minutes to the metro, wonderful staff at the reception!!! good room cleaning. Of the minuses: the smell of sewage appeared in the toilet (at night), it was not felt during the day, it was unpleasant to enter the toilet room in the morning. The bed for two is small, both in length and width, the breakfast room needs renovation

Good location near Galata Tower. It's also good that it's close to the downtown area that leads to the tower.

Il Meroddi è un piccolo hotel molto carino a due passi dalla torre di Galata e a Istiklal Caddesi. Il personale è semplicemente fantastico, in particolare Ihsan e Aysude, che ci hanno coccolato con piccoli regali e suggerimenti e hanno esaudito ogni nostra richiesta! La colazione alla turca (salata) è fantastica e abbondante (yogurt strepitoso) ma sono presenti anche alternative alla continentale (dolce). La posizione è perfetta per raggiungere a piedi il ponte di Galata (tramonto spettacolare) e i vari imbarcaderi dove si prendono i traghetti che vi porteranno ovunque, e anche la città vecchia, in 1/2 oretta si raggiunge Sultanahmet con tutte le maggiori attrazioni turistiche. Inoltre il quartiere Galata/Beyoglu molto animato a tutte le ore, ha un’offerta ricchissima per quanto riguarda posti dove mangiare e trascorrere la serata, quindi decisamente promosso!!! Ma il Meroddi si trova defilato dal caos generale e dormirete sonni tranquilli! E per finire, c’è una piccola ma fantastica terrazza sul tetto dal quale si vede tutta la città vecchia! Noi siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti e se dovessimo tornare an Istanbul sicuramente sceglieremo di nuovo il Meroddi!

Die einzigartige A**osphäre und die professionelle, dennoch herzliche Betreuung verdienen höchstes Lob. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist äußerst reichhaltig mit einer Vielzahl an Optionen – von verschiedenen Eierspeisen über Pommes, Kellogs, Honig, Obst und Gemüse bis hin zu verschiedenen Aufstrichen und Getränken. Das freundliche Team trägt zusätzlich zum positiven Gesamterlebnis bei. Die Lage ist unschlagbar – nur 150 m vom Galataturm und 200 m von der Istiklal-Straße und dem Tünel entfernt. Vielen Dank für unvergessliche 5 Tage – wir kommen definitiv wieder!
