Dualis Hotel

Clean flat and excellent location.

We booked the apar**ent with sea view for 8 nights. We arrived very early and the staff were helpful and let us in earlier than 2 pm. The place is nice and well kept and has all cookware to prepare simple meals which saves money. There is also dish washer and washing machine in the kitchen. There are few super markets where you can buy grocery. It is within walking distance from many attractions and 10 min from tram station. There is no elevator so be mindful of that but the owner helped us carry the suitcases upstairs. Also they do not have shuttle to and from the airport but they can arrange it for you. We arranged it ourselves to the airport for $40. Airport taxi charged us $70 from the airport. No fault to the owner, the area around the apar**ent is dirty and there is trash everywhere but the area around the main hotel is clean. Daily cleaning was listed as amenity for the property but they did not clean. We were not sure if we should have asked. There are all kinds of cleaning stuff in the apar**ent so we did some basic cleaning and took the trash out. In general, we liked our stay and if we come back to Istanbul, we definitely look at this property again.

This is among the trashiest places I've ever been. There was no one available to check us in and we waited in a bad neighborhood for hours outside in the street. Drunk men without shirts standing outside the door staring at my wife and kids snickering. When we finally got in, we found the place to be filthy and the lights didn't work. It has a terrible smell. I had to use my cell phone to see where we were going. The owner then started with Anti-American comments when I asked for a refund. His "staff person" said I could get a refund, then he started ranting about Americans. He denied the refund after she said I could switch to a better hotel. Avoid this place!

We are traveling with family and stayed a couple of nights in Istanbul. We chose this hotel because of the great location. The same distance to the Bosphorus and to the central square. The room was great, we were very comfortable. The hotel itself has a kitchen, but there are a large number of cafes and restaurants nearby. There is also a free car park 50 meters from the hotel. The staff is very friendly, they helped us a lot. The hostess communicates in three languages: English, Russian and Turkish. The place we highly recommend.
