Attention!!! We were at the hotel between 19-23 and they robbed us at breakfast on the 21st. They stole 2 bags with documents and a phone in the amount of 4,000 dollars. There were Kurdish children and immediately we started screaming. Neither the staff nor the lobby moved. While there pretending They were looking for something in the hotel, both bags were found without the intact money, of course (((the hotel returned us 1000 dollars

Just the one night at Kent for us at end of tour. A great location to central and old Istanbul, as well as the bazaar. Well appointed and furnished, the room we had was spacious and quiet. Bed was comfortable and room dark with block out curtains. Buffet breakfast was quite good and bar prices reasonable. On the negative side, our air con didn’t function and appears centrally controlled with no on/off switch, so the room was quite stuffy. If we opened the window, the outside street noise permeated. And the big one for us and many. Recent city changes to the surrounding streets to remove vehicular traffic for pedestrians and light rail means coaches cannot get closer than 500 metres to the hotel. Therefore guests are required to cart their cases across cobblestones, paving, train tracks etc to arrive. The Hotel desperately needs to review this and consider porters with trolleys to transport cases to their business or it will surely tail off.

The breakfast place was great with a decent variety of food. I would highly recommend the oranges! The room itself was decent size, but a bit dark. The shower was decent and the bathroom was clean. The staff were pretty helpful. Overall a good experience

Wonderful hotel. Well positioned, comfortable, very spacious twin room, excellent air-conditioning, rapid wi-fi, staff great, food very good. A very good option. (View from my room wasn't great, but a minor point which doesn't affect the rating!)

Stayed in a triple room with my two sons. It was a great location for us to explore Istanbul. Room was a decent size, clean and you were able to open a door/window for natural air. A/C struggled a little . Beds were comfortable. Bedding was just a doona/douvet. Would prefer a sheet under it. Bathrooms were suitable and decent size . Down side for light sleepers was that our room faced the main road and despite double glazing we could still hear the trams when all windows were closed . Definitely ask for a room not facing the main rd.

I stayed in this hotel as part of a school tour so did not select it myself but was very happy with my room! The king bed is made up of 2 singles, so lots of room., and no fighting over the quilt as there are 2! The bed was quite comfy. The rain shower in the bathroom was almost instantly hot and the vanity area was big enough for 2 sets of toiletries. I was also very happy with the size of the towels, bigger than a standard and almost a bath sheet. There was a kettle in the room with tea and coffee. Breakfast consisted of the usual Turkish spread, and there is something for everyone- the students were happy to see chicken nuggets while I focused on the cheese and olives! Location is about 20 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and there is also a tram line at the front door.

UGH. Don't stay here if you can help it. First of all, it's located across from a tram that is currently being worked on from midnight until early dawn. I'm referring to jackhammers and other construction noise. This should end sometime, but CHECK first! The receptionist told us when we arrived at 12:40 a.m. that the noise would last another 30-45 minutes. It lasted all night and continued each night while we were there. Couldn't sleep a wink! Also, the rooms are wonky. I had a shower (no tub) with only a hand-held shower head with a waist-high (versus a higher) handle. So I couldn't just stand under the water - I had to pick up the shower head and move it around. Most places with these shower heads have a bracket up high so you can use it as a regular shower. And my traveling companion had a gorgeous shower with the hand-held shower head, plus a fixed shower head overhead and it was in a TUB! So, that was weird. They do have a lovely breakfast buffet, but if you must stay here, ask for a room that is NOT facing the tram - and check if the construction work is still going on. AND ask for a room with a decent shower!

Good hotel in a great location close to the Grand Bazaar. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms starting to look a bit dated and could do with a refresh but had reasonable facilities. Has a small bar area near reception which was OK. Breakfast on the 1st floor was adequate.

A great location for the key attractions of the city within very easy walking distance. Great service and food good. Very busy at the bar but they managed very well. Make sure you book a table in the main restaurant for dinner as not large and busy. Good selection for breakfast. Just be mindful that some rooms face a dark inner courtyard. If staying for one night and your not bothered fine.

I just browsed the photos of the rooms here on TA and can’t believe this is the same hotel. I stayed at this hotel on 2 separate occasions ( 2 different rooms) and neither were bright and airy as these photos. While they weren’t bad, they were also nothing exceptional. Overall: -Rooms had thin walls and noise carried. My first room was across the hall from the elevator and thus, super loud. I slept zero hours the first night there. The second stay was a corner room and a bit nicer and quieter. Beds were average. - the stench of cigarette smoke was pervasive even in non-smoking rooms. -the breakfast buffet was nice though the coffee was not. This was actually a theme through out the entire trip in Turkey. For a country renowned for such amazing coffee, the hotels, including the nice resorts, all had machines that made powdered coffee. - the location was fantastic and a quick 5 min walk to the Grand Bazaar. To note though after a taxi fiasco, it is not accessible to taxis during certain hours because it is on the tram line. My taxi driver couldn’t find it after multiple inputs into GPS and 20 the hotel recommended to him that he drop me off a bit of a distance and many flights of stairs away luggage and all. - hotel staff will charge to help you. I needed a taxi to the airport and while they did facilitate ordering a taxi for me, I noticed that it was 250 lira more than was on the taxi’s final meter at drop off. I expect to be charged for a lot of things during travel, but not for hotel concierge type services. I don’t believe that’s a cultural thing as that same week, the Orientbank hotel had not only called a taxi for me free of charge but also negotiated the rates and provided the taxi and myself with their number should we encounter issues or have questions. It made the Kent Hotel commission for making a simple phone call pretty glaring. Overall, average hotel with above average pricing.
Response from Property: Hello Marry, Thank you for your good/bad responce. We are sorry that the guest noises on the floors have disturbed you so much.We can only warn guests not to make too much noise on the floors. In open buffets, coffee is usually delivered from the machine, there is no coffee machine drawn from the coffee bean.We are a country famous for Turkish coffee, not with espresso :) The hotel always calls a taxi for free for all our guests, the taxi drivers and highway tolls on top of the price written on the taximeter, so the price is different.

The location of the hotel is convenient, but over an hour from the airport, depending on the day and time. The first two nights, room was really small , but the two nights at the end of the tour was much roomier. The bathroom was small and the hallways smelled. Breakfast selection was not much
