Although the location is convenient, the hotel did not agree with the guests' check-in. The hotel called a taxi service for the guests to the airport. They originally negotiated a price with the guests and immediately charged 30 euros. However, when they arrived at the airport, the driver said that an additional fee (50 euros) would be charged. The hotel staff did not explain that at that time. There are additional charges that make tourists feel that it is a scam! The hotel should have a good communication with the local driver and then relay it to the passengers, but he didn't! Very disappointed, I will not recommend this hotel to my friends in the future.

This hotel worth its 4 stars for 100%. Very good for travelers, the room (standard) is small but you enjoy it when you come back to relax. Shower is good and hot water is hot, air conditioner is functional, no much noise from the street. They give a buffet type breakfast, it was good to me (coffee, juice, cheese, salad) - enough to survive to the lunch time. The hotel is surrounded by the number of restaurants where you can get your own breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hotel has a spacious dining place atop, and the open patio atop of the dining place, where you can have a morning coffee. It is really good point to start you morning: Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Bosporus channel all you could see from there (look the photos). Number of the tourist attractions in a walk distance from 5 min (Cistern, don't forget, they changed the entrance, now you need to go to the left, once you walk from the hotel towards Sofia) to 20 min (Bazaar). The hotel staff is friendly, communication is good, can assist with the taxi transfer to the airport. The elevator is small, but the stairs are beautiful, rounded and really appealing to use them. Overall, for the first time (as mine) it was a pretty good dial for 5 days I've staid there, I like it and would recommend for my friends. PS: Nearly forget (the closest good hamam with variety of massages (including foot massage! you need it when you are walking a lot, is in the other hotel, it is just nearby - Sura Hagia Sophia Hotel, the hotel is of a different price category, more expensive, and it has no the high-top patio for the morning breakfast (I guess this is an exclusive feature of the Adamar hotel in the old city), but the hamam is good there).

The location is perfect. Right in the center, yet not noisy. When you check in - in the room a bowl of fruit. Polite, helpful staff. Breakfast is simple but you won't leave hungry. I recommend filling the Jacuzzi in a room with a terrace, but not turning it on, dirt flies out of the air supply holes. The terrace itself is very nice. Views of the sea and the city pier.

OH MY GOSH!! This is such a magnificent place to stay!! Excellent in everything they do! My friend, Carol and I, just finished spending 10 days and nine nights in Istanbul, and our entire stay was at Adamar Hotel. This hotel has exemplary service in every area! Also, I just loved the staff from the guys at the front desk, the guys outside the hotel, the breakfast crew, the dinner crew, you name it, I absolutely loved these people! Because we stayed for quite a few days, they became to feel like family to me, and to me, that just says it all when you are looking for a place to stay and a place to be away from home! You may find other fine hotels in Istanbul, but you will not find another one to match the Adamar Hotel, and their five-star customer service and care they show for people! The food is excellent, and their rooftop bar is second to none! The views are amazing! Please check this hotel out before you choose your stay in Istanbul, you will not be sorry! My all-time favorite! I miss this place already, and I just left today to head back to the United States! Book your stay, you will understand what I am talking about!! Ranae Summers

I would rate this 5 stars but the female rude staff member serving breakfast pushes the ratings and lets the team down. All other staff members in the hotel from cleaning staff to reception were friendly, helpful, and always so professional. Room: size is small I compare this to Paris hotels sharing with a friend did push this a little for me but we managed. Bathrooms are also just big enough on the small side. However we only needed a base so was fine. Food: breakfast is sufficient reasonable choice of hot and cold. We at at the restaurant on the back of great reviews so expectancy was high. I ordered a dish I regularly eat, fettuccini with mushroom and cream and chicken. It came with an overdose of cream, no flavour, hardly any mushrooms and tiny pieces of undercooked chicken. After 3 spoons I could not eat anymore. I was really disappointed and it’s not a cheap eat! Cleanliness: spotless room cleaned and towels changed daily, and tea and coffee replacement each day. Location: this is second to none, it close to all major attractions 5-15 minutes walking distance and 3 mins walk to tram station. 1 min walk to the oldest hamam in Istanbul. If you are visiting Istanbul I would strongly recommend staying in this area. The views from the breakfast room and rooftop are amazing. Overall a pleasant stay could have been better if the waitress was not so rude and arrogant with me during the 5 day stay.

The hotel was clean, quite and although we had a very small room, it had everything that one needed. The staff were also always friendly. The breakfast buffet had a great selection and the views are amazing. 270 degrees view over the whole city. Nara was a great waitress!

Location is fab, literally a few minutes walk from the Sophia Hagia and blue mosque. Also regular taxis hang about the busy street or the tramline is very close. It is within walking distance of all the main attractions and there are so many shops and restaurants to choose from. Lovely friendly and polite staff who will help you with anything. Breakfast is served in the 6th floor restaurant with brilliant views across the city. Usual choices to suit all tastes. There is also the roof top terrace on 7th floor. We had a lovely corner room on level three, adequate space with good views and a really good walk in shower in the bathroom. Good having the fridge in your room and the minibar if you wish to purchase the items. Replacement water is given free of charge when the room is cleaned daily, and the hotel in general is always spotless. We did not dine in the restaurant but had a lunch at cafe central outside which is part of the hotel. Again great service and tasty food. Having read previous reviews I was aware that there may be some street noise, after all you are in a busy city. However with our windows closed this was not a problem. Did hear the call to prayer when it occurred in the early morning (5am) but it doesn’t last long and I soon fell back asleep. Overall I would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay while visiting Istanbul

Perfectly pleasant hotel in the thick of things with wonderful views from the breakfast room. Spoiled slightly by the ubiquitous faux western rock music blasting out, common all over Istanbul. There is a nice open air terrace but you are forbidden from eating breakfast there for some reason

We spent three nights at the Hotel Adamar. We enjoy walking, and found the location just about perfect for easily reaching the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, cisterns, Sultanahmet Mosque, Beyazit Tower, Sulemaniye Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, New Galata Bridge – all 5-20 minutes away by foot. We had a room with a water view, and the rooftop breakfast gave a 360-degree view of the area. In the morning the area is nice and quiet despite being so close to the main attractions of the area, and should you need one a taxi always seemed to be parked right outside the hotel. The staff were helpful and were able to answer all our questions - as well as provide solid recommendations. If you’re looking for a comfortable, relaxing hotel in the center of Sultanahmet, put Hotel Adamar on your short list of options.
