Grand Esen Hotel

Lots of issues. They advertise nice room and facilities but when I reach there they offer me room into next building. Room condition was not as expected. Room refrigerator not working , TV has no signals, no sheet or duvet for sofa bed, toilet has smell, rusty taps and door lock. I ask them to change room or fixed these thing but point bec no one can understand proper english.

Very comfortable hotel in a great location. Walking distance to many of the main attractions and 2 tram stations nearby for further travel. Room was small but as we were out most of the day it was fine, bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was ok but quite basic. Room was very clean. No extra charge for safe and A/C, which was nice. Air con was very good once it got going.

The lobby manager, the one with glasses, not the young man on duty at night, told us that the hotel did not have the standard double room (19 square meters) we had booked, but wanted us to live in an economical double room, whose room size was very very small and the bed is smaller size. This is ridiculous! Are you saying that Agoda fabricated pictures of a standard double room? After I raised my objection, he was extremely rude and told me to either communicate with Agoda or accept the small room, or stay in a family room and pay him extra 21 euros a day. At my insistence, he asked someone else to show me a room in the attic, larger than an economy double. I accepted the room, but later found out that the bathroom light was broken, the shower head wouldn't attach to the wall, the toilet was under the sink, and to use the toilet you had to put your hand on the sink. I don't know if you do that with every guest who books a standard room. This hotel was my worst experience in Istanbul!

Basically they stole my $360. They wanted to give me a room at a terrible next door hotel or I have to accept the only room they had which has its entrance door directly built over the staircase in a very weird and stupid way which is extremely unsafe and might cause severe accidents. The guy said take it or leave. No money will be refunded. I chose to leave and book somewhere else rather than endangering myself at this so called Hotel. Agoda failed to sort it out with the hotel eventhough I have a VIP membership here. I regret using Agoda as much as I regret chosing this hotel. STAY AWAY
