I stayed at Hotel Buyuk Hamit for 4 nights. The first thing you notice is that the front entrance has no ramp so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs. The lobby and overall decoration is very outdated with dirty chairs and tables. The elevators are small and dark with horrendous colors. The rooms are dirty, with stains on linens, carpets, curtains.. etc and the electric outlets were falling apart. The bathrooms were also dirty with rusty washing basins. The blankets were haphazardly thrown in the closet and I didn't use them. The receptionist was unfriendly and he kept looking at his phone when talked to. He looked unprofessional and answered rudely when we first asked about our reservations. The breakfast was very plain, there was nothing special about it. Cutlery was also (yes, you guessed it) dirty and the tea thermos was disgusting to even look at. Avoid staying here if you want a decent place to stay in and enjoy Istanbul.

Pleasant staff, very helpful and accommodating. Good location near university, Şeyhzade Mosque, Beyazit Mosque, and public transport. Local color, nearby restaurants. Breakfast buffet included in room price.

The hotel was going through renovations and was very loud. The lobby of the hotel had a very strong paint odour because it was being painted. The carpet of the rooms had holes and stains.

Hotel buyuk hamit need renovation. The pictures in the website or ********** are misleading .the staff are friendly The bad part when they bring pest control to spray the room with guests in the rooms in rainy day.other guest you can hear them all the night.plus the prices in front desk less than booking online

Dirty, ugly, terrible breakfast, very very small toilet and when you take a shower everything is getting wet. you can’t open your door with the card, reception terrible. Don’t get close to this place. The room is dark and the TV in not working.
