I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Elite World Grand Hotel, conveniently located on Basin Ekspres in Istanbul, and the experience was nothing short of outstanding. We were staying on the 5th floor a non smoking room/level and people smoke all the time, we complained several times the best they can offer is move you to another room Rooms and corridors smell bad from sewage, we complained, they came and sprayed something to lessen the bad smell, but it didn’t work well. Lighting system inside the room need an update for sure. The staff is pleasant and helpful but the hotel is old and renovation. We have got a very good deal almost 50% off The concierge person is very helpful, he tried to offer a good rate.

1. At the reception staff was not proffesional, they would not even stand when guest would enter, the put up the sign 9.3 on booking ( which is fake). 2. The rooms stink. They are not clean. I requested a non smoking room and both rooms smelled like smoke. Bathrooms were gross and bugs were everywhere! ! The door did not seem secure whatsoever. 3. Oh and let’s not forget about the nasty and dirty carpet in the hallway. The mildew smell and humidity in the air. 4. No Towels in the bathroom had to ask 3 times and write on WhatsApp and they would still not bring it! 5. I paid for breakfast including and they never served, said we are renovating the kitchen but i never saw any working team, or workers renovating, when asked why they are not providing any breakfast they said” talk to managers “ - but I stayed there for 5 night ( as it was not refundable) but never saw or could not talk to manager! 6. Window was not closing properly, beds where so hard, that the entire body would hurt in the morning, felt like sleeping in the floor all night! 7. No parking, No fridge, no closet, just hanger to hang things on! 8. Staff was unprofessional, they would not bother to care about any of our complaints, my room was not cleaned 3 days and they would not bother event to justify! 9. I will not recommend this place unless this is a very last resort. The one staff was respectful but all hotel staff are the reason for the poor hygiene of the rooms. I even walked pass a room that had old filthy mattresses stacked almost to the ceiling! 10. I am sure that all the positive feedback listed here are a scam as there was nothing, i mean nothing positive about it!

-＞Area and Surroundings: The hotel is at a walking distance from “Mall of Istanbul” for about 8 minutes. We arrive to the hotel by 1:00 AM and it was difficult for our taxi driver to find the hotel. The approach to reach is very desolated. -＞Room: I was in a standard room. The room was decent size and the bed was comfortable. The room had all standard amenities like Hair dryer, safety box, a hot water kettle, a small refrigerator, Ironing board etc. What I found missing was USB charging points, which is pretty much a standard now for all the hotels. The room had a table and a chair for working on your computer / working otherwise. -＞Bathroom and Bathing experience: The bathroom was decent in size. It had a congested WC next to a wash basin. It did had a bathtub in the bathroom doubling as a shower area as well. The water pressure was good enough in the shower. -＞Hotel Staff: Extremely polite, welcoming, interactive and warm. -＞Breakfast: The breakfast was well managed. The options were not as many as other good hotels but still a decent spread. We being vegetarians anyways are having very limited options to eat. -＞Swimming Pool / Gym / Spa: I was not able to access the pool or gym. -＞Lounge access: I did not have the lounge access. -＞Special mention: Wifi is free, and the speed is good.

I love the hotel, location and staff. It was exceptionally all very loved and kind to me. The rooms are freshly renovated and really very beautiful. The cleaning staff has done the cleanest work. Give me the pleasure again !! :)

Its location is very close to transportation vehicles. I prefer to use it for the Internet, and it is close to other locations where I travel. The socket is faulty, there is a strong smell in the room, even if it is ventilated, it will not disappear. The Internet never took an hour. Overall the stay was quiet ok, small rooms but one could manage but we were fooled by one of the employees of this hotel, never ever fall in the trap of these employees when they suggest you a tour package. Erdinç Izer at the reception of Ibis West was one such person who fooled us with a tour package and gave us exactly the opposite of it. We were suppose to get our personal car for the tour package, he gave us a pathetic tour with Azure Tour Agency, which we never asked for. Above all, Erdinc was rude and very rude when we came back, he started shouting at us when we complained about the tour, in his words ”what can i do, its late now, i can't do anything if your day is wasted” this is how he replied, Azure tour driver was talking on phone while driving on a hill top, we were not taken to the spots for which we gave the money, the guide was pathetic and worse, such a bad tour Erdinc provided us and wanted to shut the matter by saying, ”what can i do” extremely bad experience, guys never ever book a tour with Ibis west hotel, book your tour yourself after checking the reviews because Ibis west will provide you with a pathetic tour in which the hotel can earn by making lives of the tourist hell. We were a group of 10 people and all suffered with the pathetic service by Erdinc ... at last after yelling at us for about an hour he agreed to give us a 500 Lira discount as if he was doing some favour on us. Really bad and unprofessional behaviour, if by mistake Ibis gave us the wrong tour they should have apologised and should have returned our money back but ..instead of this Erdinc planned to shout at us and say ”i can't do anything in this” Above all, next day, Erdinc agreed to call the tour package person to talk, but to our surprise when we went to the reception the next day, Erdinc has already left and the tour package person didn't show up at all ... this is the kind of response we got from Ibis West hotel .. do not ever fall in their trap ... we are really not happy at all ... attaching pictures of Erdinc, watch out for this person in Ibis west .. whatever happens to you ..he might say ”what can i do in this, i can't do anything”
