Inn at Ellis River

I was invited to join my daughter and son-in- law on a little getaway to NH. This was my first time to stay at a Bed & Breakfast. The Inn At Ellis River provided the best experience for me! From the location, which is quiet and peaceful, to the well equipped Bridal Veil Falls room I stayed in, it was all very lovely. John and Mary are wonderful Inn keepers! Mary was in constant motion, attending to our hearty, homemade breakfast, or running around watering the outside flowers! John visited our breakfast table each morning and engaged in light conversation. My room was in the main house, so I took full advantage of the 24/7 Coffee/tea/cocoa station, and also the afternoon treat of homemade cookies! I loved the cookie recipes they provided on picture postcards for all to take. I will be making some of those at Christmas time. The atmosphere here is quiet and peaceful. The service is top notch. The Bridal Veil Falls room was very comfortable ….king sized bed, mini fridge, fireplace, wardrobe, jacuzzi, sliding door leading to small patio where I enjoyed morning coffee. The location was convenient to activities in the area. I

The Inn at Ellis River is a real gem. The owners, John and Mary, along with Christine and her helpers, Emma and Tux are very welcoming and made sure our 3 night stay was perfect. Our room was clean and quiet and breakfast each morning got us off to a great start. We have stayed at many places in the Mount Washington Valley over the years and we can honestly say we have found our new “home away from home” Highly recommend this inn to anyone looking for a 5 star stay.

Every once in a while Mother Nature decides to kick you where it hurts and forces a much anticipated event to be cancelled. Such was the case this Memorial Day in Jackson NH when organizers had to postpone the annual Wildquack Duck Race. But all was not lost with yet another perfect stay at the Inn at Ellis River! We arrived in the pouring rain but soon forgot my misery to be checked in by Christine, a ray of sunshine who is a permanent fixture there and has been for 20 years. Christine described her celebration the week before and it felt to me as if I was a family member. As I’ve said in my previous reviews, that’s why we keep returning to this place. A cozy, relaxing spot where you will be treated like more than just a guest. We love breakfast…. The hearty and delicious meal cooked by Chef John and the lighthearted banter with Christine and Mary, the inn keeper has me leaving the table smiling every time. Our room in one of the separate houses was spotless as usual, the sound of the river so peaceful from the balcony.. Mary was looking so well and healthy and was excited to tell us about her trip that she was leaving for that evening. Who can go wrong here? Thanks guys for another great visit! Oh and forgot to mention that fresh baked cookies will welcome you every afternoon, courtesy of Christine!!

Always an amazing stay at The Inn At Ellis River! We first came here in 2006 when we were living in the midwest and now live just over an hour away and still love to sneak away to this lovely retreat! Mary, John and Christine make it so cozy and home-like, and the breakfast is always our main meal until dinner! We love kids and I work in a school but it is nice to go to a place where there are no kids - just adults taking time to renew and refresh. We're just thankful to have a retreat like this one! Don't pass up the chance to relax and get away from it all!

Great Mother's Day weekend at Inn at Ellis River. Excellent service, accommodations and breakfast. If you're visiting the North Conway area check out this Inn away from the traffic and the crowds it's a short ride. Also great to stay there if you're going to do any hiking, biking or just visiting the White Mountains area.

We felt welcomed as soon as we walked through the door! Mary and John are very gracious hosts. Their oversized Breakfast was amazing. I loved the Baked Blueberry French toast served with real maple syrup. We hiked two of their recommended trails and then spent the afternoons sitting in Adirondack chairs listening to the Ellis River rush by. It couldn't have been a more peaceful trip. We are definitely coming back!

Amazing trip. This inn is adorable welcoming clean friendly and the breakfast was delicious. We stayed in the cottage which was so cute and comfortable. They offer a bunch of stuff at breakfast (fruit yogurt pastries) and then two dishes to choose from (one like French toast and the other an egg dish). Coffee water OJ. The staff is lovely and there’s coffee all day and cookies in the afternoon. They have tons of info on local stuff to do. 10/10

My husband and I went back for another weekend getaway and it felt like we had already been going there for years. John, Mary & Christine are so welcoming and make you feel like part of the family. We stayed in Diana’s Bath again and just adore the space, including the sink next to the bed , cozy fireplace, everything is so clean and cozy, and the hospitality is stellar. We are so glad we discovered this gem and are already booked for year 3!

Just returned home from a quick last minute one night stay. at the Inn. We rarely travel on peak weekends but when we saw there was availability we decided to try our luck at our favorite spot.. The Inn was sold out due to Valentine’s Day.and vacation but walking in we found the same homey peaceful vibe that is the Inn at Ellis River. John checked us in and mentioned that Mary and Christine were still busy with the rooms. Once again our room was spotless and felt as if we were the only ones in that room for awhile. I’m not sure how they do it but these ladies just make it known they really care about their guests, no matter how busy or what the season or holiday. Same usual fantastic breakfast, you awaken to the fragrant smell of bacon wafting throughout no matter what floor. John makes it so delicious you’d be wrong to pass it up. So I guess what I’m saying is please visit the folks at the Inn at Ellis River. And when you find that special room that you love make sure you book it for your next visit so you won’t be disappointed. You’ll love it any season you visit!!
