Riverdale Inn

My first ( but not last ) stay at the Riverdale Inn was brief but very memorable! When my husband and I arrived at the Inn we were greeted by Eric ( he and his wife own and manage the Riverdale Inn ). He was super pleasant, checked us in and familiarized us with both the Inn and the neighborhood surrounding the Inn. Our room was located in the guest house behind the main house. We chose it because it’s on the first floor and I was worried that I might have issues navigating the stairway in the main house. I also liked that we were a little secluded too as it was super quiet where we were. Everything about the room was comfortable and premium feeling! My husband especially loved the pillows they use at the Inn. Softest pillows he has ever laid his head on. We spent a good amount of time exploring the neighborhood and parks near the Inn. There are lots of local restaurant's, bars and shopping within just a few blocks. The St. John’s River is nearby as are a few parks so we were not bored with so much to do! Another highlight is the breakfast served daily and included with your stay! It’s cooked to order, tasty and filling! We took ours outside on the patio out front because we brought our dogs with us. Eric let us know we were welcome to bring the dogs inside but it was nice out so al fresco was our choice! You also get French press coffee and it was fantastic! Overall the Riverdale Inn was a charming and relaxing place to stay! I’d recommend staying there whether you are traveling for business or pleasure. The owners and the staff care about providing an experience you won’t soon forget. One thing to note, our room was upgraded by the owner before we checked in from the smaller connected guest room because I suspect they wanted us to be comfortable with our 2 dogs. This was not a request from us and there was no upcharge to us for this. We definitely appreciated and were surprised and delighted by the gesture. I feel like whether this had happened or not this review would still be the same. We really wanted to take a break from our life in SC and the Riverdale Inn staff made sure we had the best stay.

The stay at Riverdale was awesome! Bed and pillows were so comfortable and the breakfast was delicious! The area was beautiful and close to the park and water.Their recommendations were spot on. Everything was top notch except for the toilet tissue!😉😉😉

We had a wonderful time on our recent stay at The Riverdale Inn. Our room, The Windsor Suite, was very private with a beautiful bathroom with double sinks, huge shower and nice soaking tub. The bed was very comfortable. Having a refrigerator was nice also. The made to order breakfast each morning was great. And the location is within walking distance to lots of nice restaurants. We will definitely stay again on our next visit!

Beautiful, very comfortable rooms. We spent a lot of relaxing time on the lovely front porch. Exceptional service from checkin to checkout, including breakfast each day with good selections and delicious food. Honor bar is a big plus with reasonable prices and great selection. Our second stay here and we will definitely return!

Its a beautiful mansion with a warm ambiance, spacious rooms, a great bar area and full of gorgeous antiques. Breakfast is made to order with large servings. We would definitely stay here again.

We wanted a small and simple wedding for ourselves and immediate family members, and Riverdale Inn gave us exactly what we wanted and then some. The inn is charming, the staff were friendly + accommodating, and all of the wedding details were taken care of for us so we had time to focus on the special day. They went above and beyond for us. The reception was beautifully decorated and made for some spectacular pictures that we will treasure forever. We enjoyed the room, the décor, and the bed was soft, comfortable, and breakfast was outstanding. We appreciate everything that the team did for us, and would highly recommend this for anyone who is looking for a one-stop shop - simple. elegant wedding that will be handled for you entirely.

We spent two nights at this guesthouse. We arrived at the check-in time and parked our car in one of the spaces at the back of the property. The owners were out, but answered the Ring doorbell and told us where to find our keys to get into our room. We had to rush out to the Jags game, so didn't see them again until the next morning. The property is in a residential area, so there isn't much close by, although there was a Publix and some restaurants within 10 minutes walk. There is a somewhat limited breakfast, but everything is cooked to order so it's easy to change things up. I asked the hosts if we needed to do any paperwork as we had not seen them when we arrived, but they told us everything was fine. The hosts were amiable, although we did not have a lot of interaction with them. The property is beautiful. Our room was a good size, and there was lots of space around the property to sit and read or play games. We didn't have time to do any of that during our stay unfortunately. Obviously, this is an old house with no lift, so consider this when booking if you have any difficulty with stairs. I am able bodied, and in good health, and even I found all the stairs up to the second floor challenging with a heavy suitcase. The bathroom was very modern, but the decoration was sympathetic to the old style of the place. Our room was charged to the card we booked with on our day of departure. I would consider staying here again.

Just an overall very nice experience - very polite staff , good selection on the breakfast menu and clean accommodations near all my favorites places to visit in Jacksonville including the Cummer Museum , rooftop bar ( not to be missed ) River and Post and trendy 5 points district .

The house is 130 years old and amazing! Met the owners there and they made breakfast for us. Delicious! Highly recommend!
