An exceptional historic hotel. Feels like a combination of a palace, a museum, and a hotel. We enjoyed it very much.

Stayed in the weekend. Jerusalem always has a feeling of tension lurking just under the surface. Not here. You are welcomed to this history charged hotel that has a strong bygone feel to it- in the positive way. Service is kind and friendly. Rooms are spacious and full of caricature. Beds were extremely comfortable (although I would prefer firmer pillows). Food was lovely with generous portions and great value for its quality. An experience to remember.

Spent two nights at the hotel – a great experience with nothing to complain about. The hotel is a true oasis in Jerusalem, combining rich history with modern facilities. The staff, especially Diana, Rana, and Nur, were extremely helpful. We will definitely be coming back.

It’s not a hotel it’s a home away from home. Everyone, from the moment you enter until you leave cares for you. They care about you and they care for each other. You will hear laughter in the courtyard, singing in the garden and eventually join in. It’s irresistible. Sleep comes easy when you feel at home. And easier even more after a delicious meal. Yes le CHEF is not only delightful he’s a master of deliciousness . And then there’s a summer and a winter bar. Both are traps, with nooks, crannies, cocktails and conversations. There’s an army of love at the American Colony, early bird gardeners, housekeeping elves, security sweethearts, gentlemen with steady arms for your luggage and travel, a front desk like nowhere else. Breakfast lunch dinner and more, it all feels easy and is because of the front team & back team who literally never stop (even when they giggle) working to delight us. And when you think you can’t be spoiled anymore you come across a young man with the kindest eyes and he gently offers you a chocolate. You all know who you are. You are the American Colony and my home away from home.

We had the most amazing time at the American Colony. The best hotel in Jerusalem by far! The staff, rooms, restaurant and shop all fantastic. Make sure to visit Amjad’s shop to see all the amazing stuff he has!

Superb hotel - a proper old world experience. The staff (everybody: in the shop, the bar, the restaurant, the cleaning staff) were consummate professionals and did everything possible to make us feel welcome. I would unhesitatingly recommend staying here.
