This place is awful. I booked 31 days and left after 13. Ignore the photos (they’re 30 years old) and ignore the positive reviews; not reliable at all. The ripped screen door from my first room never got fixed. Someone just moved it to the room I moved into a couple of days later. (Bugs come in at night when the lights are on, which is common sense in a tropical country.) I had three refrigerators and NONE of them worked. (They’ll also get passed around; not fixed.) I threw more food in the garbage than I ate. Expensive grass-fed steaks! And the microwave wasn’t cleaned; someone else’s food stains everywhere. And some point, you just give up asking for common sense things… There were several dead cockroaches in the window frame of my second room. This place isn’t getting a Covid clean or a normal clean. My sheets and pillowcases had mysterious orange stains on them. And the pool got closed down for three days by the police because the little French guy I see walking around (owner, manager?) never wears a mask and neither do his friends. The same little French guy spent an hour one night screaming into a telephone. The police came that night, too. I’m guessing other guests called them. I could hear this ****** even though I was 25 meters away and had my headphones on. The mattress in the first room I had was unusable due to the many craters; I considered sleeping on the floor. The furnishings are all ancient, dirty, and uncomfortable. I could literally go on forever. There was also something living in the ceiling above my second room. In the mornings and sometimes in the middle of the night, it made a lot of noise. The first time I thought someone was working on the roof; that’s how big it is and loud it is. There is a crack in the ceiling, so I could see it moving around, and parts of its home and food (bugs) fall through the crack. There was so much junk on my floor, and it all came from the ceiling. The good news is that you’ll get some exercise chasing bugs around with your shoe. This is not OK. Not for a motel and definitely not for a “resort,” which is laughable. On my last day, another guy was complaining about normal things (single-ply toilet paper, no coffee maker in the room, the restaurant closing 45 minutes early) and I looked at him and said, “You have no idea how bad it is here.” Don’t miss the $10 breakfast – two scrambled eggs, toast, and a small serving of old beans and rice that’s been reheated in the microwave. Of course, the photo of the breakfast plate on their website includes meat and fruit. As I said, the photos are 30 years old. Either way, it’s tremendous if you like throwing away money. I’m a full-time traveler, and this is the most disappointing Airbnb or hotel experience I’ve ever had. I would have left much sooner but the internet was down several days. So much for getting any work done. (Watch someone from the resort comment on this and ignore everything else.)
