The hotel and the stay were amazing comforting secure and relaxed. The hotel was very clean, and the stall was extremely polite, friendly, and respectful. They have amazing and wonderful staff. The place is exquisite it is very, very close to mehrangad fort. There is breakfast, lunch, and dinner provision in the hotel, too. I must tell you the food is fantastic, tasty and completely homely. They use fresh vegetables and serve hot food. The restaurant, which was on the terrace, gave a fabulous and mesmerising look of mehrangad fort. You can see the fort from the terrace itself as close as possible. The chef made really delicious and amazing food. They even served tasty Daal Batti Churma, which was homemade and authentic. The staff of restaurant was also very polite and they were really helpful and nice people. The hotel even provided affordable rickshaw service, and the rickshaw uncle(Harun Pathan) was very nice and cooperative, and he explained the whole culture of rajasthan, showed us every small small tourist spots and told us small small details and information. He made the trip memorable by showing us the galliyas of Blue Jodhpur 💙 which we enjoyed the most, and took authentic and pure sweets, namkeen, and purchased bangles and traditional rajasthani items. The hotel and every person associated with it is very nice.

the ancient temple (300 years old) was very interesting. the food was decent; we ate breakfast two days. the call to prayer at the crack of dawn is EXTREMELY LOUD right outside the hotel so beware of that. However, a STRONG caution: one of the front desk staff tried to take us out of the hotel to scam us. we wanted to go to the stepwell nearby and this boy insisted on taking us there. I didn’t know why at the time, I thought maybe he wanted to go too. We found out that he was trying to take us to a textiles shop for a commission. This is a common scam in India — drivers or guides will take you to “their friend’s” shop “just to look, no pressure to buy” but you should know that this is ILLEGAL in India, as they make a commission on anything you buy. When we tried to go into a different shop on the way (for our own interest) he tried to prevent us from entering the shop (because he would not receive a commission from this shop) and he further bullied the shop owner to “make it short, woman” so that we would not linger there long. The tourism police showed up and that’s when we realized what was going on. He paid off the policeman while we were in the shop and then waited for us to come out, and again tried to lead us into his friend’s shop. We shook him off and continued onto the stepwell on our own. Yes this is a beautiful hotel on account of the temple it is connected to, but the hotel staff are actively trying to take guests to scam them. So, I would not recommend this hotel overall based on that experience.

This is the second time I have enjoyed staying at Jee Ri Haveli. Hi***shu and his family were lovely hosts. The Haveli is outside of the old town but the views of the fort from the rooms and rooftop restaurant are spectacular. You are within easy walking distance of everything including the excellent Sardar Market. The rooms are comfortable but not ***y luxuries but this doesn't matter as the beds are comfortable and hot water in the shower!! The food in the restaurant is excellent as well accompanied by the aforementioned view - see photo . They can arrange cars etc for arrival and departure if needed. Hi***shu took us on a wonderful walk through the old town - the blue city- and took us to visit the Jaswant Thada mausoleum and the superb Mehrangarh Fort. We really enjoyed this as he took us to places we never would have discovered on our own , we saw some wonderful murals and we ate the most delicious local sweets and found out the next day we made the local paper! Highly recommended and I would very happily stay here again.

I thought it was a bit pricey for a dormitory, but since it accommodates up to 4 people, it would be a good choice if you have a lot of people traveling with you. Otherwise, I think a single or double room would be a better choice than a dormitory.
Representative places worth visiting include the unique style well, clock tower, Mehrangarh Fort, Pachetia Hill, and Kim Mohan Restaurant, all within a 20-minute walk at most. It was a street. There are a lot of cheap accommodations around the castle, but this one is also an attractive accommodation. (I only took pictures of the door of the accommodation, but not the bed. There were two bunk beds stretched out against the wall and a bathroom. The hot water was great and the air conditioner was working well. It came out well, it was spacious for two people, but I feel like it might be a bit narrow for four people)

We were celebrating our parents’ 50th wedding anniversary and we zeroed into Umaid Bhawan Palace as an ideal venue. We were a group of 11 including our parents and 5 kids and we planned our stay from 2nd to 5th Oct 2024. We had planned an elaborate ceremony for the event on 3rd October evening and it was meant to be a surprise for our parents. And it turned out to be far better than we could ever imagine, the experience was simply ethereal. We had a warm ceremonial welcome and were thrilled to know that all our three rooms were upgraded to Royal Suites. After we were comfortable in our well appointed rooms, Rajnandini and Sikander Singh Bhati gave us a very detailed overview the activities in the palace like a curated tour of the palace, a treasure hunt across the palace, peacock feeding, horse riding, cookie making, mocktail making and all amenities for sporting and liesure. Sikanderji gave us a personal tour of the palace & museum, explained the history and shared a lot of trivia. He and his team took special care of us during our entire stay there. Now coming to the elaborate anniversary ceremony which was planned and executed by the hotel staff. It started with a ceremonial turban tying for the gentlemen and chuniri for the ladies in the Heritage Room. Narendra Singh did a fabulous job and the 9 metre turbans were outstanding! This was followed by a royal carriage ride for our parents and the 5 kids happily hopped on. Then we had a ceremonial welcome by Malvika into the palace and our jaws dropped when we saw that the entire palace lawns were decked up only for our event! We then proceeded to the pool side for a vedi ceremony where our parents renewed their vows in a traditional wedding pooja. The entire setup was heavenly and my parents were simply overwhelmed with emotion. After this we proceeded back to the palace steps for a varmala ceremony which was immediately followed by a 30 seconds fireworks show. We then walked on a red carpet which had royal ceremonial guards on both sides and fireworks at every few steps. The Baradari (a white monument with 12 marble pillars) in the center of the palace lawns was decked up for our dinner. This was accompanied by a rajashtani folk music and dance performance. The meal was a sumptuous traditional thali but had four menus – one vegetarian, one non vegetarian, one vegan and a special meal for our father. The entire ceremony lasted for nearly 3 hours and we were pampered by the entire team of Umaid Bhawan Palace. It was a truly royal experience and we actually felt as if the entire palace was decked up only for the 11 of us. Simply unreal! During our entire stay we had some fabulous meals especially local delicacies at Risala. Thanks a lot to Jabar, Narendra Singh, Khanchand, Dhirender, Bhupendra Singh, Hukum Singh, Chef Kush etc. Apologies for missing out mentioning the other members of the staff but the service levels were simply fantastic. One can imagine how pushy 5 kids

Hotel service is very good. I left the laptop in the hotel. I found the computer disappeared the next day in Udaipur. After two or three days, I contacted the hotel and found it. The hotel found a car to drive from Jodhpur to Udaipur. Give it to me (of course, the cost is our own and it is higher than the cost of finding a car outside, but still let the hotel find a solid, after all, is a valuable item), hand in hand to find the package is very good, the driver is also very responsible. Special thanks to the hotel's service staff. The location of the hotel is indeed too far from the city. Ola is about 260 rupees to the main scenic spot. We have a car at the time of the call, but it is so uncertain whether it is always a good car.

GGuest UserThis hotel gives you the feeling that its glory days are behind it. Its quite spacious and rooms are also good. But when the handle of the water jug comes loose and the intercom doesn't work, it certainly gives a run-down feeling. We visited in January when its pretty chilly at nights but there was no geyser in the bathrooms. The hotel couldn't provide hot water either. The staff are pretty aloof in their behaviour. The location of the hotel is good, about 2 km from the Mehrangarh Fort, in one of the poshest areas of the city. So if you get a good deal, I guess you can consider staying here.
The haveli is actually a homestay managed by a lovely couple. The property is lovely, very well kept and managed. It's located in the old city, so some amount of small dirty roads to traverse, but not too much. I cannot overstate the advantages of staying in the old city. Most attractions are within walking distance be it the ghanta ghar, mehenrangarh fort, main shopping area and loads of street food! So location is definitely a BIG plus! The rooms that we got were very very comfortable, simply decorated and modernized. My mum had leg pain due to arthritis and they were very kind to give us a room on the ground floor. However, they have their dining room on the 3rd floor, for which she had to climb. They did offer to deliver the food to her room, so that option exists too. Also, they are doing some renovations to include some more rooms and a lift facility. The food is simply delicious! Simple typical home cooked indian meals that are satisfying. We stayed here for 2 nights and we had absolutely no complaints. The view from their terrace is gorgeous!! Definitely recommend staying here.
YYITAOThe view is excellent, and in the hotel you can look up to the castle on the mountain, which is also the most worth seeing place in the Blue City. The hotel is designed and transformed on the basis of traditional houses, with simple and stylish supporting facilities, and a rare boutique hotel in the city. The best part is that there is a stepped well next to the hotel, which is relatively clean and not as big as the ”famous” moon well under Amber Fort.
SSafwaanThis hotel is like a homestay but the guest area is separate to the family area. There is a nice restaurant on the roof with city view.
The room has a window and balcony and there is always hot water. The host lady would often offer free tea even though there is a restaurant on top.
It's on a hill but literally 5 minutes from Mehran garh and several other attractions. It wouldn't be possible to ever be closer to a major attraction.
The hosts are very helpful with advice on visiting attractions and happy to have a chat as well
GGuest UserPros: 1. Clean & well maintained 2. Excellent manager & support staff
3. Very tasty food
4. Conveniently located within 3 kms of prominent tourist places
5. Big rooms with sofa seating
6. Owner is equally customer centric. Personally dropped us to station in absence of local transport due to unseasonal rain cons:
1. Limited food options in restaurant 2. Rooms at 2nd floor doesn't have garden view from balcony. 3. Located 100 mtrs inside the lane. So you may find little difficult at first instance.
GGuest UserThis was easily one of our favourite stays in our 2-week trip of Northern India. We stayed at some much more expensive places but this was very authentic being an old haveli. It has charm and the staff were so friendly and helpful especially the manager. We felt completely safe here and Jodpur and Varanasi were the highlights of our holiday. Amazing views of the fort, fantastic rooftop restaurant called Indigo. Stay here!
RrayobooneYou never quite know what you may be getting when you stay at a small, locally owned hotel. Sure, you can read reviews and look at pictures, but you never *really* know until you get there. I’ll get into the hotel itself in a moment, but the main benefit this place has going for it are its owners. They are kind and chatty, and aren’t just concerned about you having a good stay at their hotel, but a good stay in their city. They’re more than happy to sit and talk about where you should go, and are very interested in helping you understand the culture of the place you’re in. One of the owners said he’d come and sit with me at the restaurant on the roof while I ate, and he did. He even offered to go walking around one of the neighborhoods with me. I cannot emphasize how important this is. When you’re in a place like India for the first time, it’s absolutely vital that you have helpful people to lean on a bit. I don’t mean that in an “India is dangerous” kind of way, but in an “India can be completely confusing and difficult to comprehend” way. I would regularly come back with questions about things I saw while wandering, and not only were the owners willing to answer them, but they seemed genuinely excited by the opportunity to help me understand the culture of their city and their country. As for the hotel itself, it’s clean and comfortable. One thing you have to understand is that this is an old building, in the old part of the city — and those are GOOD things. Yes, there are more “western” style hotels in newer buildings in Jodhpur. There’s even one that’s under the Marriott umbrella. But if you want to stay at a Marriott, you can do that at home. And more importantly, those hotels are not in the old city, and that’s where you’re going to be spending your time. The Kings Retreat is right in the midst of it, and it was helpful to just be able to spend 15 minutes walking back to the room to take a shower or rest for a bit. As I said, this is an old building. It’s what’s called a “haveli” — typically an old mansion with a central courtyard you’ll find in many cities in India. So yes, there are some quirks like old doors or having to turn on a water heater and wait a few minutes before you take a shower. To me, this is all part of the experience. And the owners have done a great job with modernizing the building. I’m sure there’s a lot of regulations when it comes to making changes to a historic property, and I was a bit concerned at first when I walked into the room and found it hot — but let me tell you, that air conditioner is ice cold and blows like a tornado if you want it to. Yes, you’ll probably have to switch into a tuk-tuk with your luggage when you get close to the building, as the streets are quite narrow. I promise you, this is totally fine and normal. And yes, there’s no elevator, since this is an old building. But I was upstairs and it made no difference. There’s a guy there who’s very used to carrying bags up the steps.
GGuest UserHaveli inn pal is not Pal Haveli. Keep that in mind. But they are in same haveli. Different parts. Room no.7 is one you are looking for. Great views of mighty fort. Bit overpriced. Best if you get around 4K. Main thing is location. All famous eateries are near. Allowed us early check in without any hesitation. Friendly staff, at least most of them. So overall decent stay. I reviewed good on Agoda but this bad experience came after our stay ended. On last day we asked for taxi from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer. They said 6K as it is season rate. They said one way is not available. We agreed thinking taxi has to take round trip. Next day they asked us to pay all money to us in advance in cash before leaving. And then while travelling we came to know it was a one way car. Car already came from Jaisalmer, it was on its way back from Jodhpur. So charge is half for such trips. So hotel could have been honest and take less money. But they wanted their commission. This is no good. Left bad impression and this type of things destroys trust of tourists coming from far places to visit these great cities of dignified kings. So you can go ahead for stay but do not book anything external like taxi or sightseeing with them.
GGAJENDRA SINGH.This hostel is absolutely superb, the staff are friendly, helpful, full of local knowledge and go the extra mile. The facilities are cleaned daily, rooms are spacious, air conditioned, large lockers for the bigger backpacks, free wireless internet in the lounge with some games also connected to the internet, with a large screen TV (which was popular most evenings)
KKyle ROur group had an awesome time. We were picked up and taken care of at every turn. They made sure we had the best experience at every spot from the jeep safari to the entertainment at the end of the night. I would highly recommend Umed, he made sure every experience was first class. Thanks for everything!
