This hotel has so much potential. The manageress was the only attentive member of staff and everyone else spent most of their time standing around (tapping on their phones). My family stayed for two nights in the two bedroom Villa. It was pretty comfortable but starting to look tired. The air conditioning was noisy. The plunge pool pipework was unsightly (not covered - which would be so easy to remedy). The main pool was great although, once again, a little tired looking. The ‘activities’ were not particularly great. The pedal boats need an overhaul, the rabbits are sad and poorly kept. The playground park was virtually non-existent. We didn’t try the mountain biking. My biggest complaint would be about the restaurant. We were advised to book our meals ahead because of the resort being busy. I reserved a table for 6 people (and ordered our meals) 1.5 hours before our dining time. We arrived at the restaurant on time only to find a couple of staff standing around, looking confused. The tables were not set. We were directed to a table for 4 in the corner with fantastic views. I had to explain that we needed 6 chairs for the 6 people planning to eat. The food arrived in instalments and it was pretty average. The drinks took forever to arrive. Overall, not a great experience. Breakfast was a buffet. It was ‘ok’ at very best. Not much to choose from and once again, no tables prepared. The coffee machine was empty and switched off. It felt like they were surprised to have guests. We spent all of the second day by the main pool. Not once did a member of staff (three staff were just standing around the pool bar) come to ask if we wanted anything. The rubbish bins around the pool were overflowing and despite mentioning it to the staff, nothing was done for a good hour or so. Our final evening meal, once again was ordered in advance and once again, was a surprise to the restaurant. No table prepared for 6 people, no food ready and the food when it arrived was brought out in instalments meaning that we all ate at different times. Drinks were slow to come, the empty plates weren’t cleared and generally, service was poor. On the morning of leaving, breakfast was ordered A la carte. It was cold (fried eggs and bacon), the coffee machine was off and the table wasn’t ready. Why do we book ahead if nothing will be ready? If you’re looking for some breathtaking views in Thailand, I would recommend a visit. If you’re looking for a wonderful experience at a well run resort hotel, I’d look elsewhere. The restaurant needs a complete overhaul. The staff was lovely but I would recommend taking them to another venue to see how excellent restaurants operate. There was so much standing around and very little customer focus. Definitely room for improvement. As I said, this place has fantastic potential.
