Good location in the heart of Kajaani. Room was nicer than expected - bathroom was gorgeous, room was small but fine. Wifi was too weak to stream Netflix, fine, but otherwise a winner.
Best part - it was -35C but had zero concerns as my car was in an attached heated garage for 8 euros that kept it at around 2C. After a freezing cold trip, thank you!

Lower than basic level, outdated hotel waaaay below usual Sokos Hotels average. Contacted the hotel beforehand and asked for a room with a tub. Got a reply saying the hotel will try and arrange this. Didn’t happen – the room had a shower. When I returned to rec. to ask about tub the receptionist replied straight up that ”unfortunately all tub rooms were full!” Like they would know and remember this detail just like that! The basic level room had no mini fridge, the shower tap was from the 80’ies (because I had one just like it in my childhood home!), shower tiles and groutes were covered in brown dirt, pillows were mushy, the arm chair was dusty. A total joke were those Lumene brand shampoo and conditioner bottles that had been refilled with some cheap not-even-close-product! To be frank: I am amazed they still keep this place as it only weakens the current brand.

I’m reviewing Valjus keeping in mind other Sokos-hotel stays. On it’s own I might give five stars, but you will expect excellent quality at S-group hotels. Nothing to complain. Parking at the front door.

Выпала прекрасная погода на выходных, и мы решили всей семьёй отправится в милый городок Каяни. Парковка на выходных прямо напротив главного входа. Класс. Путешествуем последнее время на Тесла и поэтому отсутсвие какой либо инфраструктыры со стороны Сокос очень меня пугает. Сокос как сетевой отель везде развешивает зелёный ключ, сертификат своей гармонии с природой, а позаботится о сокращении парниковых газов путем установки зарядки в каком либо месте вокруг отеля не благоволит. В 2018 году спущена Директива о том, чтобы организация самостоятельно обеспечивала развитие инфраструктур зарядок автомобилей, но спустя 3 года что мы видим? Сокос нет дела для выполнение требований закона. Очень не доволен, что пришлось ехать на чужую парковку и зарядку. Касательно обслуживания и сервиса в отеле. На улице стояла 32 градусная жара, а мне с моей семьёй и маленьким ребенком предоставили номер без холодильника. Где я должне был хранить молоко и питание? На данный вопрос мне не смог ответить персонал. Предоставили вечером холодильник переносной, после того как я включил его в розетку он издавал такие звуки, что мне пришлось выключить его. Лифт очень душный. Не предусмотрена его эксплуатация при палящем солнце и пока поднимаешься/спускаешься на 2й или 3й этаж, успеваешь вспотеть и можно идти переодеваться заново. Почему не установить кондиционер в лифте или специальную плёнку на стёкла шахты лифта, во избежании таких солнечных нагрузок в отеле тоже не понятно. Видимо нет никакого дела всем на то, что клиенты отеля задыхаются в лифте от отвратительного качества воздуха. В номере подключиться к телевизору не смог даже персонал отеля. Пришёл, понажимал кнопки и сообщил, что не может помочь. Классный персонал, который ничего не решает, просто пытается, а результатат нет. Касательно сауны, которая находиться на цокольном этаже. Спуститься туда с ребенком и помыться не предоставится возможным, т.к. нет лифта, необходимо идти полестницам. Ванночки, чтобы помыть ребенка тоже не нашел. Купал в номере в душе. В туалете на первом на этаже на завтраке воняет мочёй. Вымыть туалет у ресторана химией не предоставляется возможным? Прошу всем ответственным менеджерам, отработать все указанные замечания и предоставить отчет здесь на сейте или связаться со мной лично. Останавливался в ночь с 3-4.7.2021. Pavel

Sokos Hotel Valjus is located right in the middle of Kajaani. It has been partly renovated and I was lucky to be assigned a renovated room. The service at the reception was very friendly. The room was new and, clean offering no frills but instead was very basic. The bathroom design is silly; when taking a shower you are about to make the whole bathroom floor wet. Breakfast was quite basic with nothing special. The selection of teas was poor (just "basic Lipton and cheap fruit teas) and so was the coffee selection. When you pay nearly 200 euros for a room per night you would expect more.
