The hotel is very nice, a bit like a small gallery. The room was beyond imagination and the bed was so comfortable that I fell asleep immediately! Hygiene is also very good. Then every staff member in the hotel is super nice, especially the kitchen. No matter what time we come back, they always ask if we want to cook something for us, and the dishes they cook are also delicious! !

The stately property is an oasis of peace above a busy road. The grounds and rooms are very well maintained, stylish and spacious. There are plenty of loungers by the pool. The staff greeted us very kindly with flowers when we arrived and warned us about the possible noise from the railway. The food was included in our room price. It is not fine dining, but it was tasty and sufficient. A clear recommendation for a stay in Kandy.

A beautiful colonial style hotel with rooms that fit the colonial description. Get lost in the history of the building which is over 250 years old with many of the original building and features reserved. The team here add to the old world charm, nothing is too hard for them, any request is met with a smile and can do attitude and is delivered upon. Our room did not include a minibar/fridge and upon asking if it was possible to have one for medications, within minutes one was delivered and it was already cold. Come with an appetite as the meals are tasty and plentiful. The bar facilities are limited but we asked as they don’t have Champagne/sparkling wine on offer if we could BYO and again met with a can do attitude. Thank you team for a memorable stay.

What a wonderful oasis of calm and beauty in the hustle and bustle of this overgrown city! Do take time to look at the old photos on the walls of the public rooms and learn about the history of this former home of a prominent Sri Lankan family. Excellent service! All staff speak good English.

On an anonymous and busy avenue on the outskirts of Kandy, a beautiful wooden portal separates you from an oasis of peace and truly exceptional good taste. Here we are at Tarus Villa Kandy, part of a chain of splendid small resorts throughout Sri Lanka created from period villas. Here in Kandy the old colonial residence was transformed a few years ago into a refined small resort, conveying a charm of considerable impact which is also enhanced by a welcome and generally a very high level of service. A beautiful swimming pool is located in a delightful garden in front of the main structure under whose portico there are a few tables where you can enjoy an excellent breakfast and, if desired, lunches and dinners of a level certainly above the average local standard. The rooms are beautiful and functional, well furnished but the dimensions are rather small. They are not small but you would expect a little more space. In any case, despite the anonymous location, the noise of the traffic outside and the rattling of an (fortunately) occasional train in the surrounding area, staying for a couple of days in this exclusive oasis is a unique pleasure and worth the full price, not even too much. above the standard of formally 4 or 5 star hotels in Sri Lanka.

Really nice colonial villa set just off the main road in Kandy. Villa is newly refurbished and well maintained. Really beautiful opportunity to stay in a nice private villa with a really beautiful lobby and courtyard. There is a small outdoor pool. The train line lies just behind the villa and so you can catch it a few times a day.

An absolutely wonderful oasis in the middle of KandyCity. Beautiful hotel with amazing people giving their guests superb service. Everything is lovely - architecture, swimming pool, beautiful room, great shower, fantastic food (he’s the best chef in Kandy!). They are now serving alcohol but really just beers or wine with a choice of red or white, by the bottle but not by the glass. This is something we feel they could perhaps improve on. We would not hesitate to return or to recommend it!

Lovely place. Good was amazing! Staff very attentive. Lovely old house with a nice pool Close to a Main road and railway tracks but did not bother me.! The crab curry was simply wonderful- spicey too for my Sri Lankan taste buds!
