The hotel was absolutely beautiful and the staff were very courteous. The only thing that disappointed me was that we had booked 2 nights half board. On the second night we were expecting a buffet style dinner, however it had been changed to a very limited a la carte style menu. They had done it due to a lack of customers but they could have informed us at breakfast. The restaurant manager did however do his very best to give us some better choices of food but still a disappointment. Overall I would be happy to return in the future.

Good staff and service. Overall a relaxed 2 days. Spacious rooms and accommodated 3 adults and a kid. Location is prime and can walk around as well if you want to explore the surroundings. We were a large family group and had no issues and they also have a shop attached with decent pricing.

We stayed for a couple of nights at the hotel and except for the room, nothing was good about the property. The service was too slow, both for housekeeping and dining. The food was bad - always cold, even at the starting times and with hardly any variety. There were insects and mosquitoes loitering on the food items (had shown it to the manager too), the chefs at the live counter did not even have a cheese omelette. I am not sure how it has been categorised as a 4-star property.

Centrally located in Kandy on main road, spacious rooms with all basic amenities , Room had good views of Kandy landscape Very helpful staff . Decent resturant with buffet options including outside open air seat Decent swimming pool Overall a good place

Herzlichen Dank an das gesammte Team und den Manager Amila des Hotels Royal Kandyan. Wir durften Gäste in diesem sehr schönen, modernen und zentral gelegen Hotel in Kandy sein. Im Zuge unserer Rundreise mit unserem Guide Anura Mahanil wurden wir Könige in diesem sehr schönen Hotel empfangen! Vielen Dank für die schönen Stunden und das tolle Deluxe Zimmer, was wir bewohnen durften. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und bedanken uns auch für die sehr gute Bewirtung, es waren tolle Buffets, es hat alles sehr vorzüglich geschmeckt! LG Anja & Thomas aus Deutschland

We sliepen op de 4e verdieping, maar zelfs daar was de muziek uit de eetzaal op de 1e verdieping letterlijk te horen. Personeel was in ruime mate aanwezig, maar absoluut niet capabel dingen op te lossen. Het buffet was lekker, en mooi opgemaakt. Drankjes waren aan de dure kant, zeker omdat de op de rekening nog automatisch servicekosten en belasting boven op de menukaart-prijs worden gezet. Op kamer en badkamer 404 waren de nachtkastjes kapot, en de kamer is weliswaar heel groot, maar zeer fantasieloos en onpersoonlijk ingericht.

Belle grande chambre donnant sur la colline de Kandy. L'hôtel est bien placé Pour découvrir la ville et les environs. Quelques disfonctionnements dans la chambre mais vite résolus par le personnel serviable. Bonne restauration. Petite piscine et grande boutique

The room smelt musty, as if it had not been opened for months. Wall - to- wall carpet in a hot country will be dusty, if not cleaned daily. The bathroom always smelt of methane and sulphur; I don't know why. It was a difficult stay. The food was average.

Staff were friendly and Helpful although the food and drinks were not up to its standards and our expectations. Certainly not worth the price you pay for the food. We ordered a whiskey based cocktail but we were served with just a lime juice without any alcohol in it. The staff compensated us with a late checkout to make upto us and we were satisfied. The room was pretty nice and spacious. Reasonable prices. Overall experience and the service was good but we really didn’t enjoy the food and the drinks.
