Kangaroo Island Hotels with Breakfast

Friendly staff. Gorgeous glamping tent, really spacious and comfy bed. Nice location. Kitchen however only has microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle. Outdoor BBQ. Showers were cold but I only showered late in the evening so possibly could have been hot first thing in the morning.

We stayed in Cabin number 4, and were pleasantly surprised on the layout. There was shower gel and shampoo supplied in the shower. Also, cooking oil, salt pepper and plunger coffee. An adequate fridge for our needs, great microwave as well. Cooking hot plates was adequate, suited us, as we had brought pre cooked food. Beds were comfortable, better than some hotel units we’ve stayed at. Overall I’d give it an 8 out of ten.

Don't be fooled by the photographs on this hotel's website - it's probably best rated as a 2-star. The good: close to the ferry terminal. Rooms are spacious with tea / coffee making facilities and toaster. All rooms overlook the sea with a balcony. Free, self-operated laundry facility on-site. Parking available on-site. Check-in efficient and friendly - staff helped with luggage. The poor: Penneshaw is at one end of Kangaroo Island which means a long drive to get anywhere else. No lift to rooms on first floor. Reception is not manned 24-hrs. Thus a fire alarm at 5am went unanswered until a staff member arrived from elsewhere. Breakfast choice is limited for the inclusive breakfast (if you choose B&B) - you can only have one of tea or coffee or an orange juice. No buffet; order your choice from the kitchen bar. Gluten-free bread is available. The hotel has a restaurant - again order from the kitchen bar, Note that one day a week the only food available is pizza. This was problematic for a gluten-free diet. After some difficult discussion the chef offered to prepare a risotto which was actually very tasty.

The hotel environment is very good, quiet and comfortable, right by the sea, the room has a beautiful sea view. You can walk to the pier and the city along the main road, but come back as early as possible at night. Only one side of the road is a little dark, although it is not dangerous.

Nice hotel locating at Kingscote, Kangaroo Island. The beach next to is small but has beautiful scence. We stayed at upper delux floor which is spacious with kitchen and washing machine. Supermarket and restaurants are closed to but open up to 6:00 pm. Dinner can be served inside the hotel with laat order around 8:30. It's good for self drive that parking spaces are adequate.

Located in Stokes Bay, Waves and Wildlife is by the ocean, within a 5-minute drive of Stokes Bay Beach and Lathami Conservation Park. Although this hotel is too average by domestic standards, I personally think it is the best choice on the island. A reminder should be added that guests must purchase ferry tickets to and from Kangaroo Island in advance to check in and check out. Leasha is an amazing chef and our meals were incredibly tasty. Self contained clean accomodation (3 in total) with queen size bed and ensuite. Includes bar fridge, kettle and toaster. If you want to self cater there is a camp kitchen. Quiet area not far from the ferry at Penneshaw or local wineries. Great spot to explore the Dudley Peninsula on Kangaroo Island. Would stay again.
