It takes about 1-2 hours to take the train from Hakata, depending on the express train and slow train and whether it is a through train or requires a transfer. There's not much to do in Karatsu, so don't come here if you can. This hotel is pretty good, except that it's a bit awkward to get in early. It's clean and hygienic and you can smoke. The price is not expensive either. The station is about 700 meters away and is quite close. There isn't much to eat around. Can't compare with big cities, worse than Saga
