"I recommend staying in the East Wing; it's newer. There are so many activities available, remember to bring your swimsuit! On the 8th floor, there's an open-air hot spring pool. On the 2nd floor, the relaxation area has four saunas; follow the marked order and timings for a full 26-minute session. At 3 PM, there's a complimentary welcome cake in the hotel lobby. Both the included dinner and breakfast are buffet-style and the food was plentiful and delicious."

"We had a 4 night stay at Mercure Saga and had a wonderful time! The lobby is very spacious and beautifully presented. In the afternoon, they provided afternoon tea with snacks and complimentary drinks, which was a lovely touch. We stayed in an ocean-view room with futon beds. It was very spacious and comfortable for our family of three. The breakfast buffet was definitely a highlight, there was such a wide variety of food to choose from! The staff were incredibly friendly, polite, and welcoming throughout our stay. Special thanks as well to the Kudon services for their great hospitality. Thank you again for such a pleasant stay. We were very impressed and will definitely come back again!"

"Great spot if you’re looking to unwind in tranquillity. We took the room with bath in sea view. The view was no doubt fantastic but not a great idea in winter as the shower is also in open air. The bath is facing the beach so bath with cautious (tested and yes, passerby can see ya if you stand up to move from the tub). Since it’s open air, the shower curtain tends to get into your face when the wind blows. Nonetheless, the room was spacious which was what we wanted. Breakfast was sumptuous. Enjoyed the peace along the beach."

"The room was very clean. The air-conditioning was also comfortable. There was a microwave in the room, so we had frozen food for dinner at the nearby Doramoli. The shower and water pressure were great, so we had no trouble taking a bath! It was great that we were able to get one frozen food per person for breakfast from the lobby! I chose curry rice, and while the curry roux was very delicious, the rice wasn't that great. However, since it was free, it was understandable. I would definitely like to stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality!"

"The front desk staff didn't speak English. I had ordered a BBQ dinner, but when I checked in, they said they wouldn't provide it and that we should go to the supermarket to buy ingredients and come back. Luckily, I found that food had been prepared in the room, but the staff didn't know the details. I showed him the printed Japanese order, but he still said they didn't have it. It was already very late, and I had been driving all day. This misunderstanding was really upsetting!"

"We stayed here to go to the Karatsu Kunchi festival, and it was great. We booked for four people, but when we called ahead to let them know we were only staying for two, they prepared two beds for us. There were four towels provided, so it was nice to be able to change them for showers in the morning and evening. It was an apartment-style room, and the kitchen utensils and refrigerator were large, making it very comfortable. There was a washing machine and a bathroom dryer, so it was nice and dry in the morning. Every corner was thoroughly cleaned, and we had a comfortable stay. I would like to book again next year. Thank you very much ☺︎"

"This is a traditional hotel that is completely relaxing and immersed in the historical atmosphere. Architecture and atmosphere: Walk into the Mianwu is like walking into the time tunnel. Wooden architecture and exquisite Japanese garden design are perfect for people who like historical and architectural aesthetics. Every corner can feel the quaint charm of the Taizheng and Meiji era. Hot spring facilities: Although the scale of the hot spring is not comparable to that of a large resort hotel, the water quality of the "Tangjin Hot Spring" is smooth and the environment is quiet, which can make people enjoy the ritual of bathing quietly. Service: The staff showcased the ultimate Japanese hospitality (Omotenashi), from the lead at check-in to the catering service is very thoughtful, delicate and courteous. Recommendation: Although it is an old building, it is very clean and tidy. For travelers who love to take pictures or pursue traditional cultural experiences, this is definitely Tangjin's first choice."

"The Japanese-style room was spacious and comfortable, but the hotel didn't have an elevator, so we had to carry our luggage upstairs. Fortunately, the staff were very helpful. Dinner was plentiful and the ingredients were fresh – highly recommended!"

"8/3/2024 The weather was clear and the sun was shining brightly. After sightseeing at Karatsu Castle, Yobuko, and Hatomasaki, we checked into Daiboukaku! The view from the room we booked was amazing. The sunrise the next morning was also great! We had breakfast and dinner in a private room. Nakai-san, who was in charge, was cheerful and good at serving customers. We made the right choice by choosing the food! The "Takumi Aji Plan" was the best."
