Hotel Karae
"All in all is good in the area for this price range. One shower in the 8 beds dorm could be too little if most needs a shower in the morning before checking out by 10 am"
Karatsu Seaside Hotel
"I recommend staying in the East Wing; it's newer. There are so many activities available, remember to bring your swimsuit! On the 8th floor, there's an open-air hot spring pool. On the 2nd floor, the relaxation area has four saunas; follow the marked order and timings for a full 26-minute session. At 3 PM, there's a complimentary welcome cake in the hotel lobby. Both the included dinner and breakfast are buffet-style and the food was plentiful and delicious."
Mercure Saga Karatsu Resort
"We had a 4 night stay at Mercure Saga and had a wonderful time! The lobby is very spacious and beautifully presented. In the afternoon, they provided afternoon tea with snacks and complimentary drinks, which was a lovely touch. We stayed in an ocean-view room with futon beds. It was very spacious and comfortable for our family of three. The breakfast buffet was definitely a highlight, there was such a wide variety of food to choose from! The staff were incredibly friendly, polite, and welcoming throughout our stay. Special thanks as well to the Kudon services for their great hospitality. Thank you again for such a pleasant stay. We were very impressed and will definitely come back again!"
Karatsu Daiichi Hotel Riviere
"Rooms are quite spacious for japan, smoking area available and parking was free of charge. No 7-Eleven or Lawson nearby, only a small supermarket - this hotel is only recommended if you have a car as otherwise everything is hard to reach."
ONCRI-KARATSU
"The ocean view bathtub room was so nice, and the private open-air bath was even better. I couldn't use the large bath because I missed the time check, but that's a shame. The staff were also very kind. However, if your purpose is to tour Karatsu, not just spend a leisurely trip at your accommodation or walking around the town, it's a bit far from the tourist attractions, so please think carefully about your schedule."
Yoyokaku
"An antique and very unique Japanese hotel. The hotel staff are very nice, warm and keep their distance from guests. If the hotel can provide free shuttle service to Karatsu Station all day long, it will be impeccable."
Hotel R9 the Yard Karatsu
"The room was very clean. The air-conditioning was also comfortable. There was a microwave in the room, so we had frozen food for dinner at the nearby Doramoli. The shower and water pressure were great, so we had no trouble taking a bath! It was great that we were able to get one frozen food per person for breakfast from the lobby! I chose curry rice, and while the curry roux was very delicious, the rice wasn't that great. However, since it was free, it was understandable. I would definitely like to stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality!"
The Trailerhouse Village Yobuko Seaside
"The front desk staff didn't speak English. I had ordered a BBQ dinner, but when I checked in, they said they wouldn't provide it and that we should go to the supermarket to buy ingredients and come back. Luckily, I found that food had been prepared in the room, but the staff didn't know the details. I showed him the printed Japanese order, but he still said they didn't have it. It was already very late, and I had been driving all day. This misunderstanding was really upsetting!"
OnoueRyokan
"The ocean view was amazing. The food was delicious!"

Riverside Hotel Karatsu Castle
"The room is a bit small, close to the river, with a good view. It is more than 1 km away from Karatsu Castle, so you can just walk there. There is a bus to the train station at the door. Check the time and it is very convenient."
Nagisakan Kimura Karatsu Chaya
"There is an elevator, but it feels a little cold in the winter. The main dishes were squid and steamed raw abalone. Parking is free across the street, and only cash is accepted."
Sea Style Resort Ocean
"The room was spacious, and the shared facilities such as the kitchen, parking, and washing machine were all available. Perhaps because it was March, the room was extremely cold no matter how the air conditioning was adjusted. The biggest problem was that there was no protective cushion at the head of the bed. When my friend lay down, the back of his head hit the stone step at the head of the bed, and his head dented into the stone step for several hours afterward. 😅"
Taiboukaku
"You can relax and enjoy your meal in a private room. For dinner, we had a course of Yobuko squid and Saga beef. The squid was very delicious, and they made tempura out of the leftovers, and what I couldn't finish, they took back to my room (I had it as a midnight snack with a beer after taking a bath, and it was delicious even when it was cold). I think the food was one of the top three delicious Japanese inns I've stayed in. The room was a spacious renovated twin bed, and the view of the Yobuko Bridge was amazing. The large public bath was very average. The open-air bath was small, so I couldn't enter when it was a little crowded. The staff were very friendly, and the waiter was very fun."
Mizuno Ryokan
"Quiet and chill place to stay with if you need a very relaxed break. Closed to the seashore and castle which is about just 5 mins walk. Great food with careful and hearty preparation, both dinner and breakfast, impressive to eat in a 2nd floor room with sea view and super spacious. Small hot bath but super clean and ordered, very few visitors so I enjoy it alone. Highly recommended."
Grand Base Karatsu Ekiminami
"Good Place❤️"
Ryokan Oomasa
"The Japanese-style room was spacious and comfortable, but the hotel didn't have an elevator, so we had to carry our luggage upstairs. Fortunately, the staff were very helpful. Dinner was plentiful and the ingredients were fresh – highly recommended!"
