The Stuart Hotel-Motel

This place was not what we were expecting at all. It is a self check-in and you get your codes the day prior to arriving. Check in was easy. The car parking behind security remote gates was limited and it is first come first serve basis and because it is quite narrow people park their cars crooked taking up 2 spaces. There is no hotel now as the police officer we met trying to find it told us it has closed and is now a "Coffee Club" franchise. It is just accommodation so not sure why their website states karaoke and food. I was more angry at the $195 per night i was charged for a "Deluxe" Semi self contained Room for what we got. The room although dated especially the bathroom was just ok. Beds were comfortable and linen clean. The "kitchenette" as such, had the plates, glasses and bowls just sitting in a dish rack on the bench, no tea towels or dishcloths to wash up and they were all dirty. Some plates and glassware still had food and wine marks still on them. Certainly not enough tableware for 2 people, we had 1 bowl between the 2 of us but 4 plates. Lucky i had bought my own plastic ware so opted to use it instead. The only good thing about this place was the pool which was lovely. We walked 5 mins to the local RSL club for dinner which was lovely and cheap. We felt safe walking at night but kept our witts about us like anywhere i suppose. The tv was poor and we had to try and plug in HDMI cable ourselves from previous customers. To sum up our 2 night stay i would suggest to stay elsewhere as there is much much better places to choose from. We stayed for one night and whilst our room showed some wear and tear, it was clean, the bed comfortable, towels and linen good quality. Well equipped for basic self catering with some crockery and cutlery, microwave, fridge and coffee machine. ( although we didn’t use any of these as we went on the Sunset Dinner Cruise through the Katherine Gorge) . We found it to be quiet and secure.

This place is very friendly couldn't do any more for us if they tried., very clean and secure parking for if your on bikes. Close to town as well. We are travelling around Australia on Harley Davidson and staying in Katherine is a must. Don't miss Katherine Gorge.

I kind of like that I get keys from a safe, open the gate, park the car and I am done. No waiting for check in or filling our paperwork. The rooms are always consistent. Older style but well kept and well appointed. Only downside (I think this happened last time too) NO MILK!’ I had tea bags, coffee pods, coffee machine, sugar…. But no milk. If you’re like me you need milk for your tea / coffee first thing in the morning or you’re grumpy all day 🤣. Otherwise it’s become my goto when in KTown.

Breakfast was included in the price but unfortunately had to walk 3 blocks away to another Hotel. Manager was kind enough to let us use the room until later in the day as we had to wait for the bus, and there was nowhere in Katherine to store lugguage.

We arrived early and because our room was not ready, we were given another so we could settle in. Jean-Claude was very pleasant and helpful. Self check-in was easy. Breakfast was very good but you do have to go to another motel a couple of blocks away. Not a problem for us but useful to know beforehand.

This motel is great. In the heart of Katherine so right next door to Coffee club for breakfast. Good room with several comfy beds, brilliant hot shower, great aircon. The little things like coffee machine and 6 pods, cutlery, crockery, milk in fridge, quality shampoo and conditioner all made it a great stay. Chris, the manager, is very friendly and helpful. He suggested The Club for dinner, 300 m away and was one of my favourite meals on our trip. Felt safe and parked car in front of motel with no problems. Pool looked fantastic!!! Thanks Chris, a great night!!

We arrived and immediately searched for other accommodation without unloading the car. Sadly we were stuck as all booked out. Considered sleeping in the car.OMG. Filthy, Sheets were dirty. Holes in the wall, nothing worked, so dated was transported to the 1950s. Just don't. Plus bar next door wailing god awful karoke ...

We stayed 2 nights and felt it was value for money. Room was clean and provided facilities such as toaster, microwave, crockery etc. Staff were friendly and off street gated carparking added extra security.
