I must say I'd booked Zen B&B which no longer exists so having been met perfectly at the airport by Sitram and taken here he explained Zen was his brother's place (now overseas). Similar quality to Zen next door but in far better condition having been decorated recently throughout. Now, it is budget accommodation, not the Ritz, but its clean, things work fine, and to be honest, on my last morning during a several hours-long power cut to the area, they had great hot water in abundance!! Excellent surprise. As at Zen there's tea or coffee available for free every time you pass reception, and Sitram and his small team are so friendly and willing to please. He came out to the street when I left and arranged taxi to the airport and personally meets you on arrival if you've requested. Oh, and yes, finding it you really do need a guide, but it's in a quiet alleyway with access to two great streets so for me saved time walking in a circle. And best of all, my favourite eatery is literally round the corner at MoMo Star. I'll be back next year Sitram! Thanks

Cet hôtel dans les petites rues de thamel est très bien situé en plein cœur de ce quartier. Chambre propres, accès eau chaude avec chauffaud, wifi. Nous payons 1000rps pour une nuit dans une chambre spacieuse et propre avec sdb et toilettes. Personnel très accueillant et serviable. Nous avons pu laisser des affaires à l'hôtel que nous récupérerons plus tard, pour alléger nos sacs afin de partir en trek.

Booked Mitra Garden Inn and arrived late at night. Was directed to another hotel because the Mitra was fully booked (but we had booked it in advance) The other hotel was incredibly dirty, toilet didn’t work and the floor was full of dirt. We have stayed in many cheap places and are really not fussy, so when I say it was disgusting you should believe it. We slept with our clothes on and left as soon as we could next morning and booked another hotel.
