I stayed at this hotel when I first visited Nepal in 2014. It felt great! After nearly 10 years, I checked in again and found that the hotel facilities are still old, but it can be seen that they are well maintained. I hope it can continue to open and become a cultural attraction.

Also have to climb stairs. 🚪It’s also scary. It’s too old. I stayed there for only 1 night and ended up staying there. Changed place. Really not recommended.

I loved it all ! This unique and quaint property is a delightful addition to your Kathmandu vacation ! In the heart of Thamel handy for durbur square city centre all walkable
The rooms are awesome in size and fully equipped to accommodate you and awake refreshed to an awesome brekkie and frankly great coffee .
Get to know your locals the rickshaw guys the taxi drivers the street sellers !
I stayed 14 nights and frankly I wanted to stay a thousand !
Give it a try you won’t be disappointed !
Side note there building a new hotel and it’s going to be spectacular!

Charming place to stay… this place is quaint, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. But if your looking for high end or fancy by western standards go elsewhere. There is no elevator which was fine with us. There is no pool or sun deck for lounging which again was fine with us. We were in the heart of Thamel with shops and restaurants galore; loved every minute of our short stay and have already recommended it to like minded travelers. The in house breakfast was excellent and more than we could eat.

Angenehmes kleines Hotel, sehr zentral gelegen umgeben von Einkaufsstrassen und vielen guten Restaurants. Das Zimmer war sauber und geräumig. Das Frühstück sehr lecker. Der grüne Garten mit gemütlichen Sitzgelegenheiten ist ein wunderbarer Ort um sich nach einem geschäftigen Tag in der Stadt ein wenig zu entspannen. Wir würden definitiv wieder kommen.

Centrally located small hotel with nice, spacious and clean room (room 404 on the top floor). Very nice and quiet garden to sit and relax. Good breakfast and coffee. Very nice, uncomplicated and helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay very much and will for sure return to this hotel if we ever come back to Kathmandu.

Ambassador Garden House is a nice boutique hotel in Thamel. The garden area is very relaxing, the staff are attentive and the bed is very comfortable. The kichen/cafe staff make a very nice coffee and breakfast.

The ambassador garden hotel is a very nice local hotel in Thamel, Kathmandu. The location is spectacular! It is located in the middle of Thamel. You can walk to many shops, restaurants, clubs. And bars in the area. It is extremely nice for the price! Bicky and all of the staff were extremely nice and courteous to me. I am a 23 year old solo traveler from the United States. I spent 5 nights with them total. The room was excellent. There was hot water with a nice shower. Bicky was extremely professional and extremely nice throughout my entire stay. He gave me many tips an guidance for roaming Thamel. We had tea many times throughout the day and I am very lucky to have stayed at this location with such professional staff. I plan on coming back again and I would highly reccommend this location over any commercial location such as Marriott or Hilton. (Bicky is a receptionist that shows the utmost professionalism at the hotel).
