The location is right between Thamel and Amrit Marg - at the end is Kathmandu Hotel. Just a short distance to the garden of dreams. The room is big and clean. Try getting a viewpoint room with it's own balcony. The toilet is a bit old and the water pressure is very low as it is at the highest level. Regular balconies are also very nice. Wifi is good. Young and friendly cleaners are there almost every day and you can ask them to clean your room. It is the 5000m boat restaurant, a place where the food is highly rated. Al Madini restaurant has good halal food and has two doors. Opp is a hotel, if that matters. The convenience store also only has three doors. Hello Kitty restaurant has two doors down on a simple western breakfast (eggs, potatoes, toast and coffee) for 299 rupees.

Annapurna Hotel is located in the center of Thamel area. This is a great place for first time visitors to Kathmandu due to its central location in Thamel. We loved Indian halal food at the Almadina restaurant near the hotel. The room was nice enough, only the carpet smelled a bit damp. The waiter who served us was very warm and kind.
