The location and hotel staff are good. Need to change the towels and bed sheets.

This website said that breakfast was included, but in reality, that was not the case. It is located in the downtown area of ​​Thamel, so it is very convenient for shopping and eating out. Also, it is less than 10 minutes walk to the long-distance bus stop to Chitwan or Pokhara, so it is recommended for those who plan to go there. However, even though you will probably stop by the room, it is very lively and noisy during the night. It may be difficult for those who prefer quietness. The room is clean and the staff is very friendly.

I travel extremely often, and I am fortunate enough to stay at numerous very high end locations. As a result, I’ve become a tough grader. For my trip to Kathmandu, however, I needed a much more modest location, and Bag Packers came highly recommended by trusted globetrotting friends. I must say that Bag Packers exceded my expectations in every way … First, they are very centrally located in a walkable, engaging area with so many great options for food and shopping. But much more importantly, this accommodation is super clean and staffed with hard working, warm, very helpful staff. The rooms, common areas, linens, and roof top cafe are uniformly clean, and the cafe breakfast, especially the spinach omelette, is SO good. I was so happy to have efficient heat and hot water every day, while the front desk staff, including the manager/owner, would unfailingly go out of their way to be helpful and welcoming. I think you get value at Bag Packers FAR beyond what you pay, and I would recommend it without reservation.

Nice, clean, Easily approachable & decent place in the heart of the Thamel market, Kathmandu. Mr. Krishna Dawadi, the owner of this lodge is a very kind & helpful person. I was impressed with his hospitality. Since the place is located in the market area, there is a lot of noise from the street. keeping it aside. If I travel to Kathmandu again, I would like to stay at Backpackers Lodge again!

Bag packer Hostel is the best place to stay. Clean rooms plenty of hot water and the roof top resterant is great good food friendly and helpful staff. I am returning next Feb. And will be staying there again. I would highly recamend the Bag packer Hostel. Krishna and his wife made sure my trip was perfect.

I spent here several nights and it was perfect. The rooms are clean and spacious. The ones that arent on the main street are calmer but I did not mind at all. The staff is very nice and help you in any way possible. I had to post a postcard, but the office was closed so they kindly did it for me ! Breakfast is good and the rooftop is very pleasant. And the location is perfect ! You are in the center and close to cool restaurants cafés ,… i would definitely recommend !! Great value for money !

I have stayed at Bag Packer's Lodge many times in the past several years. It is a great location, close to many different restaurants and shops. The owner, Krishna and his wife are great hosts. Krishna has assisted in arranging transportation to and from the airport as well as trips to other locations in Nepal. The roof top restaurant at Bag Packer's Lodge is great. The rooms are quite clean and comfortable. I will be spending several days at Bag Packer's again this September.

We stayed at the Bagpacker Hostel last Feb. For 5 days. The rooms were clean and sanitary as well as the bathroom with plenty of hot water. The Bagpacker Hostel is located in the Thermul district with plenty of shops. Very safe place to stay for females. KRISHNA the owner treated us like we were his sisters. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend theBagpacker Hostel to anyone staying in Katmandu.

Actually went May 2023. Found it clean, conveniently located, comfortable room, friendly service, fantastic value. Enjoyed my stay so much that I've just booked to go back again in the fall of 2024 (which prompted me to write this review).

Fantastic Location, Reasonable Price, Splendid Service!! For backpackers who wish to stay in Kathmandu, Bag Packers Lodge is a must!! Whatever tour information you need, the staff members are always ready to help you. The cousines at the rooftop cafeteria are awesome too.

BagPackers Lodge review I have stayed here 4 times, including the last 3 years in a row. I come to Nepal with a group of friends to do medical camps in the rural areas around Chitwan and Pokhara. We use Bag Packers Lodge as our base at both ends of our trip. Krishna, his wife and the staff are welcoming and friendly. They run a clean and comfortable lodge . They are eager to help us unload our vehicles. Our leader arranges for them to meet us at the airport and to deliver us to the airport at the end of our stay. On my third trip with the group Krishna accompanied us and helped with our medical camps for half of our stay. On my fourth trip he accompanied us for the whole trip. The the rooms are very spacious, beds are comfortable, the bathrooms clean, there is plenty of hot water. The wifi is reliable. I can’t comment on the rooftop dining, as we didn’t eat there, as we have always visited in February when it is too cool to eat outside.

My favorite Travelers/backpacker hotel in Kathmandu. Excellent place for pre & post trekking. Located centrally in Thamel, easy to use as your base for exploring the city. Clean and comfortable Full menu rooftop restaurant serving Western & Nepali food. Great Espresso drinks. Staff can assist with all your travel needs for travel within Nepal, air & bus tickets. I've stayed at Bag Packers on all my trips for over 15 years, and enjoyed every stay.
