I had the pleasure of staying here at Basera Boutique for over 5 weeks. It felt like a home away from home with the kindest, most caring hotel staff I've ever met. Their communication was exceptional from the start. They made sure we were picked up from the airport with our names on a plaque and the driver was amazing at navigating the chaotic roads of Kathmandu in a safe, comfortable manner. The staff at reception were always keen to make sure we had everything we needed with our stay, and as we were long-stay guests they offered to get us whatever we wanted for breakfast, although it was barely required as the breakfast was superb every morning. We were even able to have a breakfast to go one day when we went for an early morning hike. We always knew we could trust the safety of the hotel food which was a necessity especially when we took unwell due to eating outside food. When this occured the staff were so caring and helpful, ensuring we had extra provisions such as oral rehydration solutions and as much water as we needed. It meant a lot to me when Rebecca came to help me when I was quite sick and gave me a hug and ensured I had everything I needed, she even remembered me when I came to the Base Camp Café a few days later and asked how I was doing. Sushant has been an incredible overseer of our whole experience at the hotel. He has been so accommodating to our needs and there seemed to be nothing he couldn't help us with! We were greeted with a smile by every single member of staff. Doors were opened for us, staff made an effort to ask about how our experiences were going in Nepal and got to know our usual breakfast orders. The hotel itself is designed very luxuriously. Before you even enter the building you have a lovely security guard to open your door and take your bags if you have any. The lobby is both grande and cozy. I felt like a queen with my huge room (Heritage Suite) and jacuzzi bathtub! The A/C worked really well, and even when it wasn't working so well on 1 occasion (likely due to a power cut in the city) the team were very quick to sort it. The tea and coffee station was always well stocked, plus 2 bottles of water a day and toiletries for the bathroom. The rooftop swimming pool was lovely and cold after a hot day in Kathmandu. There was a nice little area to sunbathe and relax by the pool. They have a fantastic view of the city. The gym is well equipped with cardio machines, pin weight machines, bar bells and dumbbells. We tried food and drinks at both The Mantra Restaurant and Base Camp Café. Staff were always attentive and food was consistently good quality. Overall I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The staff will go above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful stay during your time in Kathmandu.
