I loved my stay at friendship homestay, Nima and is family are very nice people, I will miss them. I felt part of the family there, Also I really appreciated having my breakfast prepared every morning. It is really an authentic experience staying with them in Kapan, a local neighborhood pretty nearby Boudha stupa, I would definitely stay with them again if I go back to Kathmandu.

We didn't spend the night, but were invited by Nima to spend an afternoon while waiting for our flight back at night. We had a nice and cozy experience making Momo together with Nima's family ( they came out delicious! ). Good chat and a very pretty view from the big balcony :)

I am so happy I chose Friendship Homestay and got the chance to experience authentic Nepali family life. I am a guy who likes his own space, so I was a bit anxious about the experience. But Nima, his wife and their two little boys are such wonderful people. They made me feel welcome, helped me with all I needed (taxis, information) and even took care of some luggage for me as I went for a week to Pokhara, while I also had plenty of personal space. I truly felt at home! Rooms are clean and nice, there's a bathroom and a shower for guests, so from my point of view the conditions were as advertised and more than satisfactory. I highly suggest having at least one dinner with the family, it was delicious and only 400 rupees! Breakfast too (which is free). I hope to come back one day and see little Urgen again, I just loved the kid! Nima, thank you for everything.

It's truly been a pleasure to stay at Friendship Home Stay. Next to very tidy rooms and all necessary amenities you are welcomed into the home of such a warm and loving family. They really make every effort to make your stay as pleasurable as possible and help you with any questions. You may have breakfast and dine with them if you so desire. They show you around the city and make sure you're just looked after in every regard. I can only recommend this place wholeheartedly.

The hospitality of Nima and Sarda surpassed all my other Air bnb experiences. They engage with you, and make you feel well received. They were flexible with my requests and responsive with every small question I had. I decided to have the meals with them only for 300 NRP each, and it was cooked with a lot of love. This is the ideal place if you want to have the experience living with locals.

The only way to experience the real Nepali life is to stay with Nepali family. I had great time in Friendship Homestay during my time in Kathmandu. The family was kind and helpful. They warmly welcomed me to the family and cooked for me almost every meal. :) The homestay is located in local neighborhood area where you can experience local life. But it is only 15-20mins walk to the Boudhha stupa. Room was clean and spacious enough for solo traveler or couples. Recommend for all traveler. :)

We have spent a wonderful month with the family in Nepal. The situation of the house is very good, because there is no noise around and you rest very well. The house is very clean, and the rooms are comfortable. Very important: Every day Sharada prepares a delicious breakfast and meals with love for us, you can't miss it! Thanks Sharada for the cooking class: Momo You can also walk to the Boudhanath Stupa center and you have plenty of shops nearby. Ask Sundar to take you to the incredible monasteries, that only the local people know about it, it's amazing! They are also great trekking professionals, this is an unforgettable experience you can’t miss while your stay with them. Nima and Sundar are excellent tour guides! They have always been very sweet and professional to us, always helping us even in the smallest details to make our stay pleasant. We even went to the hospital to welcome the new born with the family, it was a magic moment. We love little Urgen too. I highly recommend living the experience of living with this family, we carry a memory in our hearts forever. Every day is a magical experience in Nepal. We love Nepal. Thanks to the whole family for making us feel at home. We’ll be back! Love, Ngima

Look no farther in Kathmandu, than the aptly named Friendship Homestay. Host Nima Tamang has an infectious smile. Mother Kalpana and vivacious wife Sharda are excellent cooks. Father Lakpa keeps the homestay swept and the facilities in good working order Everyone tends the organic garden. Young son Urgan is energetically gifted and delightfully creative. Comfortable beds, quiet street, spotlessly kept, and sparking clean air away from downtown smog. Magnificent views of hills and monasteries, especially enjoyed from the sun deck. Solar powered hot water. Electric blankets for the cold months. Boudhanath Temple is a short walk away. Close to neighborhood shopping and reliable ATMS. A Buddhist shaman and family friend can be called upon for powerful treatments. Pain relief....or pain removal in my case! Profound shifts in perspective, for healing and mental clarity. When it was discovered that one of our party had broken a hip in a fall, a month before our arrival? The Tamang family warrior spirit sprang into action. Sharda arranged for a young relative to be hospital bystander and beyond. Nima did all the researching, planning, transporting, consulting with doctors, and endured 3 very difficult and exhaustive hospital transfers. Nima raced all around Kathmandu, on many trips, to search for the most rare blood type, needed before surgery could be done. He went to the hospital daily, to take care of business and doctor consultations, bring organic home made food for Anna's 3 week stay. Not to mention the double Pisces birthday bash the Tamangs held for us! Best cakes we have ever eaten. Nimas own birthday went unmentioned by him, typically, a few days later. Helping me obtain a new passport at the usa consulate. Driving us to extend our Nepali visas at immigration. Nothing of service, is overlooked. Nima is a community organizer and leader. Respected and admired, by all who know him. Brother Sundar Babu, who also lives at Friendship is a wonderful fully accredited mountain and hill trekking and city tour guide. Book him early! Many points of interest, in the numerous ancient sites around Kathmandu, would have been entirely missed, without his expert knowledge. At Friendship Homestay, you get the entire package. Thoughtful hospitality and kindness, along with the rich mystery that defines Nepal's colourful culture and heritage.
