It’s my first time in Zanzibar, I spent two nights at this hotel and a night in another hotel, all I can say is that this hotel is wonderful, rooms are clean, food is nice and above all the staffs are lovely, very friendly and helpful, I’ve been to many hotels in different countries but I can give a high thumb for the staffs of Toa hotel, The General Manager, Lucas that received me upon arrival and the best of all The Front Desk Manager ESTHER, thanks a lot for the hibiscus Juice the day I arrived and the last cup you gave me before I leave, you never knew but it’s my best and I’ll come back for it again in sha Allah. You gave me free wine lucky I don’t drink alcohol I had to return it back to you, thank you so much and I’ll recommend thousands to use your hotel if I have to and I’m sure you’ll never let them down. All the best TOA HOTELS AND SPA.

R&R in a friendly and welcoming environment. Zanzibar was on the bucket list and using this hotel as the base for us to explore the island was a good choice. As you do, you read reviews and then make the choice based on reading between the lines. The hotel food, accommodation, entertainment and facilities were value for money and representative of similar priced hotels in other third world tourist spots. We thought the buffet offered a good variety, often having different themes. Our all inclusive holiday package proved to be cost effective and the drinks available, 24/7, were most enjoyable. The hotel has three pools and sun loungers were always available. The beach was ok to stroll along, when the tide was out, and you could take this opportunity to visit the nearby village and interact with the locals. The hotel does provide a free shuttle bus every day for guests who would like to experience a beach that is more commercial and user friendly. The bus drops you off at a beach cafe where you can use their sun loungers when purchasing food or a drink. This was perfect for spending time sunbathing, swimming, browsing in the numerous souvenir stalls and interacting with the Masai beach boys. We took advantage of using the travel agents onsite at the hotel to book excursions which enabled us to explore the island and we found them to be reliable and competitively priced with our tour operator. Five of us also took a trip on a local's motor boat across the bay to visit a sandbank and mangrove forest for $15 each. Be prepared to haggle to get the price down to what you are comfortable to pay. We also took the opportunity to eat at a Said's Bustani Local Restaurant located 200m from the entrance to the hotel, walking along the road towards the village on the left handside. Two Tanzanian meals with drinks for $20 was an enjoyable experience as was the 200 shilling ride in a Dala Dala to the village beyond Marumbi which we boarded outside the hotel. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and our visit to Zanzibar.

We had the most amazing experience at this hotel! We have done 2 weeks on the island and stayed in different areas, but by far this was the best hotel! The welcome from the staff was incredible, a welcome juice and beautiful singing and instruments. The food was 10/10 and we loved how the chef took time to speak with the guests. Every single staff member we encountered was fantastic. A special shout out to Ezekiel, he is a real credit to your team and is very friendly and professional! The rooms were beautiful, well cleaned and great essentials included. It was my friends birthday and they did a cute display in the room and a cake for her at dinner with singing and dancing which made the day special! The pool area was great, towels already on the beds for you and they give you ‘bed’ service for anything you need around the pool. They also offer a buggy service to get you around the hotel which is a nice touch! Evening entertainment was brilliant, very skilled people! Also thank you to Raymond, Emmanuel, Solomoni, Kombo, Megan, Godfrey, Godlisten, Majid, Abeid and everybody else! To top it off they even do a farewell song which has left me in tears! I cannot wait to come back next year!
