Beautiful hotel

very disappointing experience, we paid Over 600usd for a family room which had an open plan bath and bed, the drains were smelly, the toilet seat uncomfortably High, suitable for those with heigh 5"8 and above. construction and design quality of the room was below average. the curtains in room had mold, pillow covers had stains, the extra bed for the kids was stained and dirty. terrible service at breakfast. i got my coffee after 30mins, at the time the breakfast area had 4 tables only so they werent busy. our friend found a snake in her suitcase on the day we were all checking out , the management was very casual about it, for your information it wasn't a friendly snake. also quite a distance from town. it has a nice reception area, a gym,boutiques, golf cart service to move around, boats available for boat rides, decent size pool.

Wow! Everything here was perfect! Check in was a breeze, the staff was incredible and the location was gorgeous. From top to bottom, it was an unforgettable experience for our family. From a suprise upgrade when we arrived to the departure song, everything was first class. We enjoyed the pool, the spa, the restaurant (breakfast was great) and went out on the sandbank. If you are looking for a relaxing time in a beautiful location, look no further. Thanks to all of the staff for making it an incredible experience!

Kombo’s service at the restaurant was exemplary, characterized by impeccable attention to detail and a genuine care for guests. The chefs actively engaged with diners to ensure the quality of their meals, making each guest feel truly special and valued. The spa experience was equally impressive. Sam and Abdul were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, enhancing the overall atmosphere with their warm and attentive demeanor. The massage therapist delivered a truly outstanding performance, skillfully addressing every tension point and contributing to a deeply relaxing experience.

Our stay at Le Mersenne was truly exceptional! The customer service was impeccable, with the staff consistently attending to our every need. The chef personally ensured that each meal met our expectations, making our dining experience unforgettable. Kombo’s outstanding service is something everyone should experience! We also visited Pure Spa, and it was the perfect addition to our stay. The massage was incredibly relaxing, enhancing our overall experience. Pure Spa is an absolute must-visit if you’re staying at Le Mersenne!

Fantastic staff and large villa room in a nicely located hotel. Complimentary boat trip to the sand dunes. Beautiful bar and terrace. Ashley the manager and Megan went out of their way to be so helpful. Mzuki and Nelson were also were thorough. We did feel the hotel food could have been better. Both the breakfast (please try to reduce the fly’s} and dinner could be improved in taste. It was rather ordinary. It was a slight let down given the rest of the hotel.

This is a beautiful resort perched on a hill overlooking the ocean. We loved it here - -the fresh ocean air was a delight, and we slept very well! Service is gracious, and the grounds and rooms are kept to a very high standard. We enjoyed everything we ate there. They had delicious breads at every meal from their pastry chef, and their breakfast spread was among the nicest of our whole trip. They also have a complimentary trip out to a sand bar by boat every day. Highly recommend.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm welcome and the high level of professionalism demonstrated by your staff. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and we were delighted by the thoughtful amenities and decorations provided in our room. The attention to detail in every aspect of my stay did not go unnoticed. First day very disappointing dinner at the roof top resturant ..food was cold n too oily..asked for hot soup which they forgot to serve..staff was confused.. According to there high rate nothing was satisfactory so far.. Toilet seat is sooo uncomfortable..water is not goingout propery in the shower... Curtains in room is not properly fixed..I am really disappointing why I am paying so high for this type of service...

The property is absolutely gorgeous, modern, and well designed. The staff could not have been more welcoming. This side of the island is remote but picturesque and much quieter than Nungwi or Stone Town. If you are looking to relax you have the option to spend your day at the amazing property pool with the most beautiful view. If you want to get out, other options are to use the property beach or go to a nearby beach. If you are in the area stop by the Rock restaurant for drinks and/or food but book in advance on their website. The beach there is beautiful so you can also schedule some relax time - alternatively the sunset from Kono Kono beach was 🤩 I truly recommend taking the drive. The breakfast had a good spread and a good view so from my perspective good value. However, and keep in mind I only hate a pizza at the hotel but I was not impressed at the quality for the price charged. Honestly, I read some of the negative reviews and don’t let them make you miss a chance to spend few nights at this property. I would go to Nungwi first and keep this side of the island for the end of the trip for true relaxation. JF

This beautiful island resort was beautiful the service was amazing, smiles all the time. comfortable rooms with a beautiful view of the Indian ocean. however the roads to get there from the ZNB airport were awful. took about 1 1/2 hours. lots of potholes to avoid just to hit a smaller one But I’d do it again

Le Mersenne on Zanzibar is part of the Marriott Autograph collection and is about an hour and a half drive from the airport, ZNZ. It is a stunning location just above the pristine beach on the island's eastside. The resort has guestrooms, villas and over-water villas. The reception is located at the top level where you will find most rooms and villas as well as the gym, the shop and the Tanzanite centre. The restaurant and bar are on the lower level together with the pool area. From the restaurant you access both the over-water villas and the lower beach level. The villas are nice and spacious with a small splash pool and a nice terrace overlooking the resort and the beach. The resort is very nice and the staff are friendly and helpful so really recommend it. However, bear in mind that with reduced mobility, the resort is difficult as there are stairs to the pool and restaurant. Finally, whilst relatively new, only opened in 2022, it is already starting to show age due to poor quality. This does change the fact that it is a great resort!
