Stayed for 3 nights in a dog-friendly room with my labrador. Very relaxing, peaceful a**osphere. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Dined in the restaurant one evening and had breakfast each morning - delicious. Woke up on 2 of the mornings to find wild deer on the grass right outside of the hotel and sat and watched them with a coffee and pastries from the cosy snug room. Definitely recommend a walk over to Levens Hall and deer park - takes about an hour and a half starting and ending at the hotel. Windemere is easily accessible - only a 15 minute drive. Overall a fabulous solo break, couldn't recommend more.

Having driven past The Villa several times when visiting family in Cumbria. We decided to call for morning coffee. Upon arrival we were shown to a warm cosy beautifully decorated room with comfortable sofas and chairs with a lovely view. We ordered 4 coffees which were brought to us and had planned to move on for lunch somewhere later in the day. However, after perusing the extensive a la carte and set menu we decided to stay for lunch. Best decision ever, after relaxing with our coffees, we were shown to a lovely table in the dining room and after being very spoilt for choice had the most beautiful lunch. The food was piping hot, cooked & seasoned to perfection. Presentation was excellent, the staff very welcoming, friendly and obliging. The hotel and facilities immaculate. We look forward to returning to The Villa next time we are in Cumbria and highly recommend a visit.

It was a cold wet day but as a treat we had arranged afternoon tea with the family We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff and sat in a lovely dining room The food was delicious we enjoyed everything but couldn’t manage all the cakes so we brought them home to enjoy later I especially liked the mini fish & chips and black pudding sausage rolls Everyone agreed the scones were THE best we’d had for a long time As was the jam …we we’ll be back The only fault was after tea was served no one appeared later to ask if we would like extra drinks

Hey went to here on Christmas Day it wasn’t worth £65 it was only worth £20 with the small portions it was like back in the 2 world war like rations broke my step dads tooth on Brussels and rock hard carrots from the Stewart family

All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room presented very well with excellent views over the countryside.
Parking easy.
Breakfast cooked to order.
We stayed two nights and would stay again if in the area.

We stayed one night at The Villa - the room was spacious - the bed was clean and comfortable, the food was acceptable. Unfortunately the room was not upto scratch and was in need of a deep clean - the carpets were stained and dirty, the bathroom grouting was black and there was mould on the ceiling. The only place to plug in the hairdryer was over the tea & coffee tray which was on a chest of drawers so nowhere to sit and the mirror was too high anyway and to be able to style hair was to stand over the tea tray so not hygenic at all and very inconvenient. We shared the breakfast room with a gentleman in work attire (high vis jacket and dirty work boots) We paid £240.00 for DBB which is a lot of money for a sub standard hotel so we will not be visiting The Villa again.
