Aghadoe Heights Hotel & Spa

This was our last stop on our 2 week trip covering Scotland and Ireland. The hotel is just outside of the town center which is great. And the concierge (I think his name was Gerry) is super friendly and drove us into town one day and picked us up another day. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. And the views from the dining area are absolutely spectacular! I cannot comment on dinner as we chose to eat in town both nights (go to Hilliards!). Breakfast was average compared to other places we stayed. Limited options at the buffet and the hot breakfast was just okay. I didn't visit the spa but did use the gym. It was small and that's fine. The weights and machines were pretty dated so they could spruce that up in my opinion. Staff were so nice and welcoming!

From our warm welcome at reception to our fond farewells on departing , our stay at The Aghadoe Heights Hotel was truly memorable and everything a 5 star stay should. Peace and calm permeate the luxurious but not ostentatiously appointed hotel. Our room was bright and sunny , with expansive and in fact “The best views” of the fabled lakes of Killarney in Killarney. We felt like we had been transported to an idyllic haven. We slipped in to our bathrobes that couldn’t have been any plusher, and headed down to the spa; Alas we had lingered a little too long in our gorgeous room to avail of the Spa so we lounged in the fabulous azure blue pool and jazcuzzi. Dinner in The Lake Room , was a Michelin star worthy experience , dinner was sublime, the presentation of each delicious dish mezmerizing , the desserts were each a work of art. The attentive , friendly but not invasive service was second to none. A short after dinner walk to the viewing area across the road, as the sunset was breathtaking and just enough cool evening fresh air to refresh us. The inviting lounge hummed with jovial civilized banter on our return, but we were exhausted after a long day , and our ultra comfy king size bed was calling to us. A flick of a switch had the drapes on the floor to ceiling windows swish softly closed. I love the abundant Voya products in the gorgeously white marble bathroom , the rain shower was so sumptious , I could have stayed for hours. Breakfast back in The Lake Room was sumptious , all of the baked goods freshly baked in house by their Pastry Chef, a unique Danish pastry bar , where Irish butter puff pastry rectangle’s sat beside a mind boggling array of toppings, ..do it yourself danish pastries, various pots of rich Custards , homemade fruit toppings , nuts and seeds , providing an endless variety of Delectable combinations , sitting along side warm mini scones, muffins, and whole-wheat and sour dough breads. The juice bar alone with it’s variety of health drinks combining freshly squeezed juices was worth several visits. Then their was the breakfast menu with a vast choice of delicious made to order hot dishes. The staff couldn’t have been more hospitable, they were warm and authentic, and we truly felt so welcome and at home in their beautiful hotel. We highly recommend The Aghadoe Heights Hotel fro a truly unforgettable stay.

We have had the most amazing time, excellent food, outstanding service and the hotel is as beautiful as we remembered, thank you for making our celebrations perfect and memorable, it means so much. Our 10 year wedding anniversary and 20 years since my husband proposed here, we cannot thank you enough x

Beautiful views

Mixed experience Stunning location, hotel immaculately clean and well maintained. Let down somewhat by the service, breakfast service on 28th was a shambles, 35 minutes waiting to order another 35 minutes waiting for food, several breakfasts returned. Bar service particularly poor, on 2 of the evenings I ordered a drink at our table, after 20 minutes it hadn't turned up so I left. Stay spoiled by poor service, 5 star prices with 2 star service, not really good enough, won't be back.

We have just stay here and omg it was the best stay ever. The staff our the nicest! The food is out of this world! Our room is beautiful and so comfortable. We will 100% be returning. The views are breath taking. At breakfast we had a love lady called Jennifer who looked after us she was so nice to chat to and made sure we were well looked after. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

lovelies newer hotel with fantastic views, near the center of Killarney. large suite rooms, amenities and and very nice staff. John’s was great. on the road out to the Ring of Kerry and had a shuttle to the city center. very nice bars and restaurants

We stayed for 3 nights with our two small boys (aged 5 and 3) to explore Killarney, Dingle and beyond. AH was the perfect spot for us. It was so lovely to come back after a wild day of exploring to a clean, comfy, cosy room with an awesome view. The staff were all very lovely to the kids. Massive shout out to Martin in the restaurant who assisted us every evening with two small hungry and exhausted kids. We used the pool a couple of times. It was pretty cold- need to turn the heating up on that but the boys had fun. Get a room with a view. Breakfast was good. Lots of cooked options too. Service was a little slow. We will defo stay again when in the area. Killarney town is a 5-10 mins drive away. Dingle was an hour plus but so so so worth it
