I recently stayed at the Milltown House as part of a tour conducted by the owner, Stephen McPhilemy. We stayed 3 delightful nights in this charming and historic home. I was familiar with the movie Ryan’s Daughter and was enchanted by it being the home of Robert Mitchum while filming the movie. Lots of memorabilia adorned the walls in addition to other items of Irish history, The room I stayed in was spacious with amentities like water and a Nespresso machine. They had recently updated the bathrooms with modern walk-in showers and heated towel racks. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and I slept well. That could also have been helped by the cozy bar where guest gathered at nights with some chatting and singing and a wee whiskey! Breakfasts were served in the sunroom and had a large variety of items to choose from. The mini croissants that were part of the buffet rivaled any I had in Paris. There were several sitting rooms where you could relax as well. All the staf were very friendly and helpful and Seamus the Irish Wolfhound was happy to greet you. You can also have a falconry experience through their partnership with Kingdom Falconry on their property for a fee. Our group all enjoyed it. The guesthouse is a short walk to town and the Dingle Distillery is next door where you can tour and taste their gin and whiskey. For a relaxed , feel at home experience I recommned spending a few days here while exploring the Dingle Peninsula.
