"We were recommended Barrow Lodge for our stay in Tralee, wow, in all of my 70 years, I have never experienced a welcoming as incredible as this! Clodagh, who owns Barrow Lodge, is so warm and welcoming and is everything you have ever heard about how friendly and beautiful the Irish community are. The rooms are lovely and spacious and clean, the beds are large and comfortable, as are the pillows and the view from the rooms are a pleasure on the eyes. Our breakfast was wonderful; Alex the cook is not only a brilliant cook, she too is a warm lovely lady and her home made bread and cakes are so tasty. If you are travelling to the most beautiful part of Ireland, this is the place to base yourself and if you like golf (not for us) it is five minutes walk from Tralee golf course. So basically you’ll be in heaven. But my recommendation, is that to feel welcome and wanted and relaxed, Clodagh is the person. When we return there is no question of where we are staying, it’s Barrow Lodge, 100%. Thank you Clodagh and Alex, you made my wife and I, and our friends feel so welcome, you warmed our hearts xxx."

"Excellent breakfasts with a stunning view of the lake. A cozy place, but the hotel bills itself as a spa, yet the pool is small and cold, and the tiles are old and peeling. The jacuzzi didn't work. There's no hammam or spa in the relaxation area. They can sometimes provide one separately, as a compliment, but it's located separately. Also, we paid extra for a lake view, but there was a cemetery right in front of it. Such nuances should be mentioned; they ruined the atmosphere."

Can highly recommend this place!"

"Absolutely delightful. Brigid was not just a wonderful cook, providing a paid dinner as well as a covered cooked breakfast, but having a variety of beverages on hand for our enjoyment. The room was comfortable and could have easily fit 4 (there were 3 of us) as long as you aren't traveling with 2 young adult women with a tendency to over pack (that was an us problem not a Brigid problem). The beds were comfortable. Best was that Brigid gave us wonderful instructions for getting around the Ring of Kerry and the spots to be sure to hit (she was spot on). HIGHLY recommend."
