Maple Bank Country Guest House

My husband and I just spent three nights at this wonderful guest house. Really, we loved verything about it. We had an extremely warm welcome with a detailed explanation of how everything works. Our room was spotless with a beautiful view, comfortable bed, exquisite toiletries and a well stocked tray including chocolate biscuits. If you wanted fresh milk it was always available from a fridge in the dining room and the owners even provide small flasks to keep it cool in your room. Guests are welcome to use the fridge to chill their own bottle of wine. Everything we ate at breakfast was beautifully prepared and cooked. Every day there is some sort of yummy cake left out in the dining room for guests to help themselves to. On one evening we ordered the fish platter to eat in the dining room and it was gorgeous! In fact it was my favourite dinner of the three nights we were away. We would love to return one day. Thank you for our wonderful short break.

A truly fabulous place to stay! We left today and had a really relaxed and enjoyable stay with Kate and her family. Breakfast was scrumptious and nothing was a burden, very helpful staff. Rooms lovely, stunning views of the hills and very comfortable beds. Will be back!

Perfect place to stay away from the crowds of Keswick but only a 8 min bus journey if you want to go.. the owners are brilliant, room is fantastic and the breakfast was perfect.. not a complaint from us.. we will be back.. thanks again John and Michelle

We spent Thursday-Sun at Mabel Bank with our dog in July. We could not have been happier with our stay. The house is stunning and the views are amazing. The garden is pristine with beautiful scenery around it. Our room was spotless with everything we could need for ourselves and our dog. The breakfast is included with the stay and you order the night before. We had some delicious choices and tried the cooked breakfasts as well as eggs royale/eggs benedict. Everything was hot and fresh. There are also fresh baked goods each afternoon which are homemade and so tasty. This is a great afternoon snack after a long day walking. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic with lovely pubs just 5-15 minutes walk away. We tried all of the recommended spots. We also went into Keswick town centre, went on the steam train and a self drive motor boat. Our stay was overall fantastic. We could not recommend Maple Bank anymore if we tried!! We already cannot wait to return. You are able to treat it like a home away from home. Thank you so much for our amazing stay. We would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to book. Lakes trip as a group of six and we were all very happy with our stay at Maple Bank. The guest house is very clean. Kate and her staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious and complimentary cake is available in the afternoon. There are lots of thoughtful touches throughout the property to make guests stay enjoyable. We really appreciated the downstairs fridge with milk that could be used with a cool bottle to stay fresh for several hours. The system to request additional supplies such as teabags worked really well. There’s free parking and the house is in a lovely location with pubs and good food in walking distance. We used the bus to travel into and from Keswick, the bus stop is convenient. We had heavy rain during our trip and were grateful to use additional umbrellas provided. We would recommend Maple Bank for a comfortable stay in the Lakes.

This is the second year running that I've stayed here as a base for cycling and it already feels like a 'home from home'. The grand Edwardian house is an ideal base for access to Keswick, Skiddaw and the northern lakes. The room was comfy and the cooked breakfast is a joy. Kate and the team go out of their way to make us feel welcome and the seemingly never-ending supply of homemade cake is an added bonus

Very helpful and friendly. Very accommodating for coeliac and lactose intolerant. Breakfast food was excellent, would highly recommend the scrambled egg and salmon muffin.

Just had a wonderful three night stay at Maple Leaf. Can’t recommend highly enough, from the warm welcome and comfy homely room with lovely finishing touches to the gorgeous home cooked breakfast and lovely cakes each day. Nothing was too much trouble and will definitely be returning!

Just back from a fabulous weekend stay at Maple Bank Guest House. What a truly special place. Kate and team are so welcoming, providing everything and so much more besides to make your stay perfect! Beautiful clean rooms, welcome treats for humans and four legged friends, delicious afternoon cakes and amazing breakfasts.
