Royal Oak at Keswick

We were pleased that we ordered the Sunday roast in advance as it was very busy. This gave a lovely ambience to the place which was enhanced by the attentive staff. The roast beef and the pork were delicious, accompanied by Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, veg and gravy. A lovely experience.

My husband and I stayed at the Royal Oak for 4 nights. We had a really nice stay. Our room was lovely and the food in the restaurant was very good, especially breakfast! However, the best part of the Royal Oak is their staff. They could not have been nicer or more helpful. Cerys was our server one night and she was excellent. Additionally, the breakfast staff was extremely nice and very professional. We will return!

Rustic charm with great service! Arrived a little flustered with a baby and our young son! Rhonda Asst Mgr checked us in smoothly and we also had early check in because of the children. Thoroughly recommend family room with bunk beds, good space for a few days stay. Maria and Anna were fabulous accommodating children's and our needs. Nice bar, nice food and nice hotel.

Welcoming stay and relaxing. A surprise trip for my 60th birthday. A group of 8 and 3 dogs all well catered for. The dogs were given welcome packs and sausages for breakfast. The breakfast was amazing with a good selection. Evening meals well presented and great choice. Good selection of beers wine and spirits. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Rooms a re clean and comfortable with excellent toiletries great location and plenty to do in Keswick. Can highly recommend

Having been regular diners at the Royal Oak, we were really disappointed with the level of service this evening. Our main course was good but I can't comment on the desserts because no member of staff made any attempt to offer us a dessert menu. At least 5 members of staff passed by our table on several occasions and not one offered us a dessert menu. In fact, one member of staff seemed more interested in chatting to people at a nearby table who were clearly known to her. This conversation included criticism of another nearby restaurant which seems very unprofessional to us. We visit the Royal Oak several times per year and were very disappointed this evening.

Stayed with family over the Easter holidays what a great place. Food staff rooms all very good scrambled egg at breakfast was amazing and even offered my dog a cooked sausage which was very much appreciated by blackie, the beers on offer were really good especially the IPA.

Fantastic cosy hotel with the most wonderful staff who make you feel so relaxed and looked after. Only minor issue was the glass sliding shower door which came off its rollers.

Very handy location 2 minutes to local bus , very good for the bars and restaurants

Travelling for business, excellent food - staff really friendly and go above and beyond.
