"Before reaching Keswick, the entrance is small and easy to miss. The hotel was converted from a 500-600-year-old house, and some rooms are dated. However, the view is lovely, the owner is friendly, and the breakfast is good."

"We stayed in Room 4 which was clean with very comfy beds - just what we needed after walking catbells and the thirlmere loop. All I can say is Lorna the host is amazing. Nothing is too much and she will help in any way she can. Her breakfast is amazing and you can mix it up how you want. I particularly liked the fried bread!!! The special thing about this b and b is the little extras biscuits marshmallows every jam and chocolate spread you can think of. Snack bars for your walks. Just a really attentive host!!!"

"Greeted with a lukewarm warm reception upon arrival. No assistance offered to take the luggage to the room which was up three flights of stairs that got narrower towards the top. The breakfast server huffed and was visibly annoyed and upset when I dared to ask for a second coffee! I suggest that they invest in a coffee machine instead of serving single cup sized cafetières. The family room was a good size but had fairly low ceiling beams which were pointed out by 15 signs which made the room look more like a building site than a bedroom. No refrigerator in the room and the safe did not work. The location is around 6 miles from Keswick. Nice swimming pool but access via the door to the changing rooms does not work all of the time."

"The hotel is right in the center of town, and the bar downstairs has a fantastic atmosphere – perfect for enjoying a glass of wine and just relaxing. The 'Superior' rooms are quite spacious, but the 'Comfort' rooms are very cramped. The breakfast is definitely a highlight; the quality and taste are absolutely superb!"

"I don’t think there is one thing that was lacking in this guest house. The attention to detail, the welcoming smile from Kate, the great breakfast, and position of the house were all excellent. Stayed for a few days so we were able to do some great things in the area - boat hire was great! Local pubs provided great meals too. Definitely 10/10"

She also provided us with lots of useful information which helped us out a great deal. Sharon was such a lovely pleasant lady who made us feel very welcome and we would definitely go back."
