It's hard to put into words what a charming delight this place is. The history alone of the house and the Otto family and their contributions to Key West is fascinating. There are haunting tales for the paranormal fans, orchids and succulents for the botanical fans, and beautifully decorated vintage bedrooms for the fans of total relaxation. This location has it all: from the reception staff that helped us with our booking, to Shawn the delightful man who made us an impeccable breakfast every morning (with mimosas available), as well as the owners taking time to speak with us and making sure our stay was to our liking. You will probably have to pay for parking as Key West in general will not put in parking lots that degregate historical architecture. The free parking around town gets filled very quickly. Go in understanding this, and know that it's worth it. My new husband and I are planning to come here again for our 10 year anniversary. We can't wait. Thank you all again so much.

This was our first time staying here although we’ve been coming to KW for years. We stayed in the Anne Suite. Huge room and big bathroom. We were not expecting fridge in room so that was a great add. As were the power stations on each nightstand. All team members were very nice, including the owners who we got to chat with one morning about the history of the place. I was concerned that the area might be noisy, but it was very quiet when we were ready to be in for the night. Room was clean and spacious. My husband had breakfast each morning (I did not). We did not go to happy hour there as we were out and about town at that time. Very nice….. we’ll be back

Staying at the Artist House was one of the highlights of the trip. The location, the facility, the breakfast, the service (esp. Shawn) were all top notch. Don't know if we'll ever get back to Key West but if we do, we're staying here again.

This is such a cozy place and so close to Duval Street. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is just right!

This is the second time I have stayed at the Artist House and I doubt I'd want to stay anywhere else. Each room is different, but all are amazing! Ann, who handles reservations, desk duties and the daily happy hour is so friendly. Loved talking to Shawn, who comes in early to prepare breakfast. The enclosed courtyard with soaking pool is a great place to meet other travelers and/or read the paper or books. Another favorite is people watching from the front porch. And for those who want to party, Duval Street is close. While parking may be a problem, free spaces are not far and we were lucky enough to find a free space across the street as soon as we arrived.

Excellent place to stay; easy to meet and mingle with other guests in the courtyard. Good breakfast and happy hour, spacious rooms; friendly accommodating staff of Jessica, Shawn and Ann. We’ll stay there again.

On our first trip to Key West, the Artist House was a wonderful place to stay! It's a beautiful home with a fascinating history. Location is great and very convenient for getting around. The rooms were beautiful and clean, and we enjoyed our private balcony. The staff was wonderful - very personable, attentive, and made us feel comfortable and at home. We loved the happy hour and breakfasts out in the courtyard and made a point never to miss them! We also enjoyed renting bikes for jaunts around town. Jess went above and beyond throughout our stay - making sure we had plant-based / vegan options for breakfast and guiding us to great restaurants and activities. Staying at the Artist House was a great experience that made our whole stay more enjoyable.

If you are looking for the perfect romantic getaway, look no further! Rooms are beautifully appointed in comfy bed, spacious baths, and gorgeous antiques! The staff is attentive, happy to chat, and accommodate any reasonable request. Location is super convenient to everything we wanted to do in Key West.

My wife and I stayed at the Artist House for 4 days to celebrate her birthday! We had an excellent time there. We enjoyed the breakfast and were pleasantly surprised that they had a free happy hour every day between 4 and 5 PM. Jess was wonderful and went out of her way to make us feel at home. The location is less than a block from Duval Street so it was very convenient. Will definitely stay there again!
