The property itself is beautiful and well maintained. We had a beautiful first floor room with a porch but it was on the street side and the 24/7 noise from all the cars, busses, trolleys, motorcycles, etc ruined this stay for us. Not to mention the rooster that crowed at 4:00 am every day. At 7:00 am (or earlier) the staff started preparing breakfast in the kitchen which was on the other side of our bedroom wall. We were never able to sleep in or get a peaceful night’s sleep. The pool is very small and gets limited amounts of sun each day but towels and loungers were nice. Breakfast was appreciated as a quick grab & go style. The hotel itself is in a great walkable location but I would never stay there again due to the noise.

Great stay! The location was super convenient, and our room was very quaint and clean. The best part of the stay was the included breakfast. It was like having your own personal chef! He was very pleasant and a fantastic cook - the man knows his stuff and really seems to love his job!!!

Great location. Clean room. Buildings slightly run down. Cleaning service did not give new glasses. AC didn’t work properly.

The new emphasis on breakfast is awesome. No more boring continental spread. If you're choosing between this and another similar hotel I'm betting that the wide variety in continental items plus made-to-order options will cause you to choose Ridley, full stop!

We had a fantastic stay. We stayed for 4 nights and would absolutely stay again. Pros-location, location, location. You could walk anywhere on the island. The rooms were spacious and well maintained. Shower had good pressure, bed was comfortable and the AC got very cold. One of the main highlights for us was the chef at breakfast every morning. He was friendly and his food was so good! We lounged by the pool a few of the afternoons and it wasn’t busy at all-very relaxing. The staff were phenomenal-from restaurant recommendations to cleanliness and courtesy-top notch. Cons-parking (like everywhere in key west-don’t get a car unless you have to). Also, I missed having a way to get coffee in my room right when i woke up. It wasn’t far away, but i would have enjoyed a Keurig or something in the room. After reading the reviews I was a little bit nervous but this place was great and would definitely stay here again.

A nice historic property in a great location. Friendly, helpful staff. A large disparity in the quality of the rooms. Our friends had large, well appointed rooms. Our room was barely big enough for the bed, had not even a single chair to sit in and virtually no place to put our clothes. Maybe I didn't pay enough attention when making the reservation, but there is a certain minimum that I think could be expected at this price.

The Ridley house is a beautiful group of old key west buildings. Similar to a bed and breakfast, but very private, separate rooms. This our second time staying here. Rhe location is excellent. Walking distance to Duval St. and Mallory Square. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The breakfast are fantastic. The beds are VERY comfortable. Beautiful shower. We're already planning our next stay.

We originally booked this hotel in July, 2023 for this trip, which we just took in February, 2024. I’m a Bonvoy Titanium member, but also use American Airlines to book hotels, to help gain status with AA. I say all that to say that I solely chose this particular property because it was a Kimpton, or so I thought. It seems that this property changed ownership on January 9, 2024 and is no longer a Kimpton and it was noticeable when we got there. First the good stuff: - Location is easily walkable to most anywhere you want to go, from Mallory Square to the Southern Most Buoy. It’s still slightly noisy with road/horns/brakes and those types of noises. - Bed was comfy and nicely firm - Housekeeping did a nice job keeping the room refreshed while we were out for the day, so we came back to a made-up room each day. - They offer nice, locally made bagels for the free breakfast. The not so good stuff: - The room, room 11 was tiny! Smallest to I’ve ever stayed in. For $2600 for 4 nights, it’s a total rip off! There was no where to put luggage and clothes, so we literally had to live out of suitcases. - There was no curtains on the windows, just blinds. So at night, the pool lighting lit up the room, making it tough to enjoy a dark room to sleep in. - There was no pressure at all from the shower and the sink water never got hot, but the shower did. - There was pump hand soap on the vanity and pump body wash and shampoo in the shower and all three smelled, looked, and felt like the exact same stuff! - There’s a guy working the office in the afternoon who doesn’t seem too happy to be asked questions by guests. He was curt and borderline rude when I asked for 2 extra towels. - The property really needs to be refurbished! The columns holding the covered patio were completely rotted at the bottom. The pool steps and deck are in desperate need of being refinished. - They charged an amenity fee… for what?!?! So, after paying $2400, I got a bill for $166.52 for the amenity fee, plus related taxes – RIDICULOUS!! There are properties in Key West with a pool that charge this fee and are worth it, but this isn’t one of them! - The front desk isn't 24x7, like most hotels... They close at 10PM... So, if you need assistance (lost keys, need extra towels, etc), you'll need to call the number on the window. Overall, I’ll stick with Marriott and Hilton to book properties when visiting. We visit Key West often and prefer not to stay in these “no name” places, as they don’t seem to be nearly kept up as nicely as places run by Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, etc.
