We travel a lot, we are very spoilt, but this is one of the most beautiful places in the world! The service is very personal, you feel at home the moment you arrive. Sitting on the terrace in the evening and looking down on the lights of Knysna is unique.

The lodge is like a large living room with a great terrace with a breathtaking view. You'll be looking for something similar for a long time! The furnishings are very comfortable with lots of attention to detail. The breakfast and especially the dinner leave nothing to be desired, with a great selection and advice on wine. The rooms are modern and very clean.

The views all around, the inside and outside areas are just beautiful and the bedrooms and communal areas designed and set up with great style - this is a place to stay to indulge in all of this and the great hospitality and thoughtful touches from Sam, Gordon and their great staff. The place to stay in Kynsna.

An absolutely stunning lodge with beautiful and considered decor. The views are beyond breath-taking. Hosts Sam and Gordon were warm and welcoming and arranged a private chef to cook a meal for our group of 6, served outside with a view across the lagoon to the mountains - bliss
Just sad we couldn't stay longer.

Absolute perfection, 5 stars, all around. This property and Sam and all the staff 100% made our time in Knysna total bliss. My husband and I stayed in the private villa - LOVED it. The views from Alkira are unreal. I think the most beautiful location of all, viewing all of Knysna during the day or under the moon light. (And still just a very short drive to town.) The food was out of this world. Fresh, local, inventive and endless! Sam has created such a beautiful a**osphere to enjoy evening cocktails, watch the sun set over the beach, cozy fires, great music…obviously I could go on and on about the perfection of Alkira. The villa was stocked with everything, loved the plunge pool, super clean, great linens, unreal view, loved all the fire place options, sadly never used an inch of the kitchen because the chef was way too incredible to pass up but it looked stocked with anything you could need. Alkira is a special special place, not to be missed. Thank you over and over for your hospitality Sam! AND Gordon! (Be sure to request Gordon’s sommelier expertise in the evenings - top shelf guy and very fun to chat with.) You will see us again Alkira! ❤️

Alkira offers an amazing top notch experience all round. From the most exquisite views all round this beautiful place with decor out of a magazine, to fireplaces and different areas all around this place where you can just be and relax. Sam and her team looks after your every step and can never do enough, the food was incredible. This place is simply the best. It offers everything, whatever you want to celebrate or just come and relax, laugh and make memories. I will be back over and over again and will never get enough of Alkira.

We recently stayed here for 3 nights for a ladies health retreat and the venue was just incredible! Never ending views, the most incredible decor and the service was simply top notch! Special mention to the chef Robin who meticulously prepared meals to suit everyone's tastebuds! If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, a place you never want to leave then Alkira is it!

We've had the most amazing and memorable stay at Alkira Lodge. We were a group of 18 and hosted a milestone birthday dinner party for my husband on the one evening. Alkira was just the most breathtakingly beautiful and perfect backdrop for this special occassion. Although it was in the middle of winter, the lodge was warm, inviting and cosy. Alkira's talented chef prepared an outstanding 3-course gourmet meal with fresh and seasonal ingredients. The lodge has all the necessary items and facilities to ensure special touches for an unforgettable and delightful celebration.
