We booked a hotel on the spur of the moment. It didn't have a high online rating, so there were some vacancies. After checking in, we found it was okay. There were almost no tourists on the beach in front. If you like quietness, Koh Mak is indeed a good resort.

Good location, there are many cafes and motorbike rentals nearby, unlike other places on Mak Island, there is a swimming pool, breakfast is a standard buffet, the room was on the second floor on the edge, huge, with a beautiful balcony overlooking the pool and the sea, the only downside is one towel for everything 😄😄 and the worst thing is the Wi-Fi, not only is it slow, but it also constantly cuts out ☹️☹️, but it’s not bad at all.

It probably was a great place to stay years ago, but not anymore! Avoid! Staff are renting there own motorbikes to try and make an extra buck, normally I’m up for this but they tried to give me some broken bike and smiled as if it was ok. There was a mistake with my booking so I couldn’t get the room I paid for so I had to pay for an upgraded room which I happily did. Trip.com offered to refund me so all I needed from the hotel was a receipt to show Trip.com but because the receptionist didn’t put me through the system and just pocketed the extra money that I had to pay in cash, she couldn’t give me a receipt, now I’m caught up in this scam they have going. I obviously was not able to leave a tip after all this weirdness, I have never in all 50 years of staying in hotels been asked to pay for the hotels mistake. Usually upgrades are free as an apology for not providing what was originally advertised and paid for.

We’ve been here 10 years ago. Everything is amazing! Best pizzas we’ve ever had, also the pasta and another Thai dishes are so good. The staffs are very kind and friendly, she recommended us so many things to do in Ko Mak. Surely come back and visit here again.

Good room, good view but! “Not impressed” receptionist Two-standard customer service A female employee with long hair tied in a ponytail talks to a Thai customer and asks what makes her face frown. Not willing to give information When I become a foreign customer, I feel anxious. Smiling and cheerful, voice 2, voice 8, if this place doesn't want to accept Thai people The next day, please note it on every platform. So you don't have to reserve. and will not recommend others to stay. And at the front desk here, we don't know what hours we work. We came back from eating at 8:00 p.m. I'm going to ask for the wifi code because there isn't one in the room or any pillar of the resort. When checking in, only the key was given. If you ask for information, ask for the answer. And the mobile signal in the room was bad. Can't use anything. So I called to ask for the emergency number 085-095-1700 that was posted on the door at 8:42 p.m. on 23/2/2024. We called to ask for the wifi code. But the person who answered the phone, the first word was "um" which is??????? If you don't want to receive it, you don't have to leave your number. Actually, I didn't want to disturb the time. But you didn't give me any damn information other than the room number. We can find out ourselves. The employee who helped deliver the bags provided better service than you. Sucks!!!!

The resort was our first stop while island hopping around Koh Chang. The complex was beautifully laid out, but the management unfortunately did not manage to keep the complex in good condition, neither in the bungalows nor in the restaurant/bar area nor in the entrance area, which looked more like a junkyard. Only the garden looked well maintained. Everyone can then judge this in detail for themselves. Another no-go in our opinion was that the beach towels were also given out as shower towels (smelled really musty). The staff were friendly, the receptionist organized our transfer to Ko Kood. We were able to come to terms with the circumstances for the four nights. The speedboat from the mainland (Krum Luang Pier, departure 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.) stops at the hotel's own pier, so there are no further transfers on the island. Many good restaurants are within walking distance. The stay was fine for us, if we visit the island again we will choose another resort. This review is not based on a lack of knowledge of Asia and/or false expectations of the hotel. We also looked at the reviews in advance. Of course you can/have to turn a blind eye here and there in Asia, but you don't have to look at everything through rose-colored Asian glasses, after all, you have to pay for your stay. Note: We had already heard about the sand flies on the beaches in advance, and the hotel had also pointed this out, so we used the loungers on the lawn in the garden, which was also very nice, unfortunately, like almost all of the hotel guests, we were also stabbed there by the beasts. We had already brought various oin**ents with us from Germany, and a friendly local pharmacist helped us with an oin**ent (Fucidin H and an anti-allergic Loratadine).

We stayed for 8 days in an ocean front villa & were very happy with the accommodation. The room & bathroom are very spacious & the air-conditioner worked very well. The rooms are serviced on request, so very acceptable. The large bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts were good with both Asian & Western. The Asian were particularly good & the choices changed each day, whilst the Western was a little more "same same". It was great to eat virtually on the beach. Both Wow & Saifah on reception were very helpful & friendly. There are some maintenance issues which need addressing i.e. our veranda needs repairing as do the sun loungers & the entrance to the resort looks like a junk yard with old furniture & obsolete motorised bikes strewn around.

Beach front bungalow was nice and clean. You can hear the waves from your room. There are rocks near the beach especially during tide. The staff was really nice and helped us with all our requests. No water pressure in the shower. Rent a scooter to see the island.
