"We had a room in the furthest bungalow, on the second floor, with an amazing sea view. The room itself was very cozy. The view was ”a million-dollar view”! High ceilings. In the room, there were large umbrellas (which perfectly protected us even from the scorching sun), flip-flops, and comfortable kimono-style robes. The bed had a soft mattress, pillows, and a duvet. It was very comfortable to sleep. The air conditioning was modern, cooled excellently, and without interruptions. We were surprised by the absence of glass cups.
At first glance, the breakfasts seemed meager, but in reality, everything and even a little bit more was plentiful. And from 3 PM to 5 PM, there was ”tea time” with free tea, coffee, sweet snacks, and egg sandwiches.
The entrance to the sea is very shallow. During low tide, you have to walk quite a distance. It's advisable to wear appropriate footwear, as there are often sharp corals or shell rock on the seabed. A little further out, there are also a large number of sea urchins.
Overall, we liked everything. Thanks to the friendly staff and the magical island for my vivid impressions!"
"Great location, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby, and just 50m from the beach. Free taxi service to and from the port was a huge plus. The staff were incredibly helpful; we asked for a scooter and it was ready for us within a minute, no deposit or fuel/scratch checks needed when returning it. The rooms are clean and beautifully designed in an industrial style – we felt right at home and very well looked after. Honestly, there's nothing to complain about. Highly recommend!"
"We had an amazing 4 night stay at the Mak Trat and I can’t begin to say how wonderful, new, clean and well kept this place is. We arranged a hotel pick up from the Ao Nid port and within 5-10 of our arrival they came to pick us up, and took our luggage straight to the room.
The villas are extremely charming and the beds are very very very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious as well and the food at their own restaurant, and the amenities like the swimming pool area are very clean, beautiful and inviting. The staff is very kind and helpful informing you about day trips and also, you can rent a scooter at the hotel itself. We’re in love with this place I would 100% stay there again. Highly recommend!"
"Beautiful place! Super cute and amazing staff. They picked me up from the pier, answered my questions and always with a great attitude! The boardwalk in front of the hotel is gorgeous for sunset. Only issue for me was the water pressure in the shower was weak and didn’t have options to make it stronger. Everything else was exceptional and would stay here again!"
"We've stayed at this hotel many times over the past 20 years. In the last year alone, we've been twice: 7 days in April (one room for two) and 9 days in January (two rooms with family). The hotel is quite old but well-maintained. Its main selling point is its central location, and it's a proper hotel, not just a guesthouse on the island. Breakfast is perfectly edible. The Wi-Fi is slow, but it works. Room cleaning is good and done daily. I've stayed in almost all room types. If you want to be right on the beach, the best are the Villa Beach Front rooms from S2 to S6. Q (Queen) and K (King) rooms are good for families with many children or if you prefer to all stay together. D (Deluxe) rooms are for couples or families with one child. All these rooms face the sea. There are also 4 smaller C (City View) rooms with windows facing the road, which are the most budget-friendly. Message the hotel before you arrive, and they'll pick you up at the pier for 20 Baht per person, and drop you off too. Check-out is at 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM at the latest. If you want to check out later, it's best to book an extra day. A suggestion for the hotel: please wipe down the very top shelves in the closet where the umbrellas are kept sometimes. It feels like we're the only ones who do it in our room. But it's not a major issue; the other shelves are clean. Rooms have safes and kettles. Generally, rooms have one large bed and a small sofa. You can book through Trip.com or pay the hotel upon arrival. I've done both, but Trip.com is easier – book it and forget about it. If you pay at the hotel, cash is better as cards sometimes don't work. If you have any questions, email the hotel; they usually reply within a day."
"Excellent hotel, impeccable service, very clean. The restaurant is reasonably priced and delicious, serving Thai and European cuisine. The rooms are very clean. You can buy a boat ticket to visit Koh Kham Island."
"We were in the 3rd villa and this is the most amazing view that we have ever had on this island, and we have lived in 5 different hotels and we have something to compare with.
Very spacious villa with high ceilings with a bathroom overlooking the sea, it's amazing.
Breakfasts were a choice, we tried 4 different sets, so to speak, they are for an amateur, delicious cappuccino.
We recommend this hotel because of the view, it's amazing."
"We stayed on February 17, 2025 in Sunset Bungalow No. 6
The friendly staff greeted us, we left our things at the reception and went for a walk along the beach, since it was still too early to check in.
The beach amazed us with its beauty, but the entrance to the water was a bit rocky.
We took a kayak and swam near the shore, snorkeled and it was time to check in.
The bungalow had a pleasant fresh clean aroma, flowers were laid out on the bed and welcome drinks were waiting for us.
The view was incredibly beautiful, I am attaching a photo. There were drinks and snacks in the room, which is very convenient, since it is quite scary to walk to the shops at night.
I especially liked the kitchen and the bar, the cocktails were quite well prepared.
For breakfast, we were given a questionnaire to fill out where we could indicate our food preferences. The breakfast was incredibly delicious, you will understand everything from the photos)
This hotel has touched our hearts, we will definitely come back again."
"The accommodation is clean, the breakfast is delicious, the location is near the pier, the owner and staff are very good, the atmosphere is very suitable for recharging the batteries. I will definitely go back again."
"the room is clean, the receptionist is good to talk, and provides good information and advice on the island attractions.the location is average, close to restaurants and cafes."
