Mira Montra Resort Koh Mak
"Really enjoyed my stay here. The room was bright, clean, and well-designed, and everything worked exactly as it should. The staff were friendly without being intrusive, and the whole place had a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Great value for the location too. I’d happily stay again."
The Mak Trat
"From the moment we arrived at Trat Mak Hotel, we knew we had found something special. We were warmly welcomed by Zindy and Jaab, two of the kindest and most attentive people we have ever met. They seemed to anticipate our every need before we even had to ask, making us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. At one point, my daughter looked around and asked, “Is this a dream?” That perfectly captures how magical our experience felt. The entire team was exceptional, especially Ku Ku, who provided outstanding service and helped make our stay truly unforgettable. Every member of the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and happy. The hotel itself is paradise. The beautiful bungalows are spacious, stylish, and perfectly blend with the peaceful island surroundings. Whether you’re a couple looking for a romantic escape, a family seeking relaxation, or honeymooners wanting something truly special, this place is perfect. The à la carte breakfast deserves special mention—it was absolutely incredible, with restaurant-quality dishes and plenty of delicious options. Every meal was a pleasure. The views, scenery, and peaceful atmosphere create a truly romantic and relaxing experience. No request was too big or too small, and every wish was fulfilled with a smile. Without a doubt, this is the best hotel and staff we have experienced in Thailand. We will be returning every year and cannot recommend Trat Mak Hotel highly enough."
Makathanee Resort
"We booked 4 nights at Makathanee House after a few days in Bangkok. It was exactly what we would have wished for. The bungalow was a stones throw away from the beach. We had it almost all to ourselves. The bungalow was very spacious and clean. The only criticism I had was that the air con unit was not in a great place. It was directly by the head of the bed so your face got really cold at night…..other than that it was perfect. The staff were so helpful. Their launders service was very efficient, the clothes came back smelling lovely. I would recommend this hotel to anyone."
Lazy Day the Resort
"From the moment we arrived we were blown away by how quiet and beautiful this place was, the staff was really friendly and helpful and the food was great!"
Koh Mak Resort
"WARNING THIS IS A FULLMOON PARTY PLACE AND BEACH, This is probably the most difficult review I ever written, because Koh Mak resort is worth at least three stars. Why do I just rate it one? We spent five night after Christmas here. Three nights and days was totally destroyed because of Full moon party’s with really really strong music on the beach until 06,00 in the morning. Those were held at our hotel and neighbourhood resorts. In my opinion the hotel owners choose easy and fast cash when agreed to let them have the party at their places before taken care of guests like family’s and elderly that can afford this hotels in the long run. Our hotel solved it by giving us back money for three nights. But still my vacation was ruined and me and along several more guest will never go back. JUNKIE ISLAND All over the island we meet stoned people, junkies and drunken youth that visited full moon party night time. On the beach there were so mutch litter and even needels. So I think Koh Maak hotel owners are up to desied what kind of destination they would like to be. SO THIS IS A WARNING, ask before you make a reservation at Koh Mak resort and other resorts. Koh Mak resort it self is in many ways good. It’s located beautiful and the staff especially front desk manager and the two men there were great. Hotels restaurant ain’t that good, messy and not any cosy at all. Chose others. The small cafe is nice! The same family runs the neighbourhood resort Sevana. It’s fantastic!!! Cool restaurant, super friendly staff and great food. Thanks for a fantastic new year’s dinner."
Koh Mak Buri Hut Natural Resort
"Where do I start😂 WiFi ,every camera on site is a WiFi version and there are loads. We had a router 20 feet from our hut and couldn’t connect due to all the security cameras swallowing all the bandwidth. Multiple router options available but when you connect to any of them the internet just disconnects. So if you want to stay in touch with loved ones just forget it. When you ask at the bar about this they just say the whole island is like this, but every single place you visit on the island has awesome internet connection,so you are fed lies from the outset. The power sockets are from the 1970’s and you will struggle to charge a toothbrush let alone anything else. The huts are surrounded by little black ants as well as their much larger big brown cousins all of which bite, these also make their way into the huts and the beds😬 The air con is set to a minimum of 18 degrees so don’t expect to truly chill. The bar menu is about as lack luster as the rooms, all cooked by the guy pushing the broom around the pool. They call it a natural resort because you are on the edge of a forest with all the associated critters most of them flying,so if you women have long hair get ready to scream when things fly into it. If you want a cheap base to explore the island then go for it,otherwise avoid like the plague. The whole place looks like a kids theme park with fake belts around each hut and plastic mushrooms to sit on. I am not picky by any means, just objective . The saying is true ,you get what you pay for😂"
Islanda Resort Hotel
"Very good room, our sea view was awesome . Great location to some of the best beaches. Helpful staff organised a scooter for our arrival. Lovely pool. Would highly recommend"
The Cinnamon & SaphanSufan Resort Kohmak
"The hotel is closed, but a local bar and restaurant remain, and the boardwalk (50 baht) is fabulous at any tide. Very photogenic yet uncrowded, perfect for a short stroll; there's even a ladder to access the sandbanks, and the water is crystal clear."
Hanoii House
"Loved it. Exceptionally helpful staff. Clean and relaxing. Water delivered daily and fresh towels always available. Brilliantly located and a place to look forward to returning to after a brilliant day on Koh Mak."
