This is an old onsen hotel, while it is clean, the facilities are aged. Onsen is indoor, if you think of having a nice relaxing onsen bath with good environment, this is not your place. It just provided you with soaking in hot natural spring, that's all. If you can't speak Japanese, avoid this hotel. There is an English spoken staff at reception but she is not there often. At time of visit, 17/4/24, temp is turning warm in day hours, centralized air conditioning was still under heater mode until 25/4/2024, the room was very hot although outside temperature was about 22-24C and we opened all windows. They had provided us a mobile fan that we turned it on even at night with outside temperature about 12-17C because ventilation was not good. The Tatami beds are just 2 layers of mattress of 1 inch each. Shuttle bus service from hotel to bus station can only be provided during check in and check out. Dinner in Kaiseki style was good, but portion was small. Service was very good. I saw other tables are served with different variety of food, but there were no options for us to choose during hotel booking. Breakfast spread was below expectation, I can't understand why many reviews commented good breakfast variety. Hotel also provide Fukata for free to wear at hotel, which is a very good experience to us. Anyway, when this review is posted, the hotel will just response with "thank you, noted" as standard response, as you may observe in other reviews.

I really like the Japanese style room!! However, there were no shower facilities at all, so I washed in the large public bath. Kaiseki is so-so, but the portion size is a bit disappointing. It's better because the breakfast is buffet style! The room was spacious and nice, but the shower was disappointing. The large public bathhouse hot spring was good, but the facilities were a bit outdated. The location is much closer to the cable car. It's a short walk from Arima Onsen Station. If you get tired, call the shuttle.

The hotel is relatively old; the portions of the food are relatively small and the taste is so-so. Maybe I am not used to Kaiseki cuisine, and the more surprising thing is the late-night ramen; the hot spring has only one pool, and the whole thing is numb. If I have the chance, I will try it again. Without Ma, this hotel would not be my first choice.

Very nice hotel

The room is very small, and no bathroom. The food is a bit disappointing.

There is only one hot spring in the hotel, and there is no open-air one. You can choose from several colors of clothing to wear when bathing in the hot spring. Dinner is rich. When you get to the station, call and pick up in 10 minutes. Check-out will also be sent to the station. The station is a bit far from the hotel. It is on the mountain and it is difficult to walk with the suitcase. You must use the hotel's car to pick up and drop off. It takes 5.6 minutes to get there. There is no bathroom in the room, only a sink and toilet.

The spring water is Aiyan Spring Gold Water, which is directly introduced from the underground spring by the historic hotel. It is rich in iron, so it is golden brown. Dinner was a Japanese-style set menu, which was very rich and included Wagyu beef slices. I stayed for 3 days and the dishes were different every night. They became richer and more upscale every day. On the last night, I had two snowflake Wagyu slices (I believe it was at least A7), which were fried until fragrant. Really delicious. It is estimated that if you stay for 1 night, there will be no supply. There are free dandan noodles for late night snack, which are also very delicious. I am very satisfied with the other facilities; it is clean, tidy, and has all the beauty and toiletries supplies. I will consider visiting other hot spring hotels of the same brand in Japan again.

The room is large and Japanese style. Breakfast is a Chinese and Western buffet, and dinner is Japanese Kaiseki cuisine. The taste is unique. The only drawback is that it is on a mountain. If you are tired walking uphill, you must contact the hotel and drive up the mountain. You can buy good things at the foot of the mountain. There are no stores near the hotel, the hot spring is a golden hot spring, and there are not many people. It belongs to a more practical Japanese chain hotel.

The hygiene is OK. Dinner is not as delicious as expected, but breakfast is good. Although the room is large, there are often some strange noises during the night. The staff did not deal with it. The price/performance ratio is high. Experience a hot spring bath once. 

Dinner was the worst I've ever had at a hot spring hotel

Except that I knew there was no open-air bath, so it was a shame. Kaiseki was a lot more sloppy than I thought. It's a shame that there is only one bath in the main bath. The location was very nice as it was quiet and quiet.
