Wir entschieden uns, Koh Phangan in unsere Urlaubsplanung einzubeziehen und haben einen Bungalow mit Meerblick im Grand Sea für eine Woche im Dezember 2022 gebucht. Die terrassenartig bebaute Anlage hatte für uns einen überwältigende Charme. Die Bungalows im oberen Bereich sind nur für gut "Befußte" über ziemlich steil angelegte Treppen zu erreichen. Unser Bungalow lag ebenerdig fast direkt am Meer mit einem tollen Ausblick auf den Sonnenuntergang. Die Gebäude des Resorts sind in die Jahre gekommen und renovierungsbedürftig, besonders unser Badezimmer bedarf einiger Neuerungen. Dafür ist die Gartenanlage top gepflegt und die 1-a Beschaffenheit des Pools, die Freundlichkeit des Personals und die Aufmerksamkeit des Managements machten das wett. Im Meer kann man baden, mit einigen Abstrichen, deshalb haben wir oft den Pool genutz oder sind zu anderen Stränden gefahren. Ein Moped wird im Resort vermittelt. Wer gut zu Fuß ist, kann sicher auch einen Verleih ganz in der Nähe (etwa 10 min. Fußweg) finden. Das Frühstück war keine Überraschung, teils asiatisch, teils continental - aber alles, was man für einen guten Start in den Tag benötigt, wurde angeboten. Wer Entspannung und Ruhe sucht, ist im Grand Sea Beach Resort richtig. Wir würden es für einen nächsten Besuch wieder wählen.

What a lovely stay! Our room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. The hotel pool was great, we particularly enjoyed the floaties. Situated right on the beach, it has stunning sunset views. The location feels isolated and quiet enough, but is only a 15 minute walk to the busier parts of the island with shops and restaurants. What made this hotel special was the level of service from all of the staff, particularly from the manager Pat. She went above and beyond what was expected of her, ensuring that we were always happy and comfortable, and even helped us to resolve an issue we had with a different hotel booking.
