The hotel has excellent service particularly in reception where they will do their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The restaurant although is lacking in quality other than the breathtaking view of the island it doesn’t have food to compliment it. My girlfriend got really sick after eating the tom yum goong shrimp where she was bedridden and had to puke multiple times. The breakfast buffet also does not offer much for a 5 star resort and is very basic. Overall this is a great stay if you are a couple, the highlights of the mantra samui is the breathtaking view and the infinity pool and gym also the rooms which are spacious and clean.
The lowlights are the restaurant and the location which makes it hard to get out of the resort unless you have a rental car.

With amazing views. And amazing sunrise, same with the panorama restaurant, breath taking views over breakfast! Very nice staff and accommodating, very sharp! It’s just a bit far, however, far from the noisy streets

Beautiful resort with stunning mountain and sea view. It has a nice Infinity pool. Staff are friendly. Room is designed with good taste.
There's no USB connector in the room so you'll need to use travel plug. It's in the mountain so it's difficult to walk to the street. You will need a taxi to go to tourist attractions.

The location is not the best, but the hotel can provide a car which will pick you up from the main gate or take you down there. If you will rent a motorcycle then the location isn't a problem at all.
The service is great, they also helped us to book a taxi and a ferry to Krabi. They're trying their best to help.
The room service is great, you can order food to your room free of charge and the portions aren't small.
The hotel has a great view with pool.
The breakfast has variety of choice.
It's probably the best place to chill.

I stayed in suite ocean room. The view was amazing, the room ia clean and big. The hotel is very good but the location is very bad. The road is dangerous and taxi to chaweng is 450. If you have a car it is ok. For bike the road little dangerous.

This resort is gorgeous. We are aware of the location might not be that convenient, but the purpose of having a vacation is to relax and chill. The service, the pool, the bar and the restaurant make us feel very ok to just stay there.
Breakfast varieties are great - they have food night - featuring different items on different nights. Price are reasonable, food options are delicious.
The suite is spacious and comfortable, with lots of natural sunlight and nice balcony to chill.
Will stay at Mantra again if visiting Samui in the future.

Had a lovely 4 night stay at Mantra Samui. Definitely deserves their 5 star recognition. From check in to check out, service was always tip top, staff were smiling and willing to help with any request, room was huge, clean, and modern (bed side international plug outlets!!), the ocean view was breathtaking.
Breakfast (adequate choices) and in-room dining were fabulous. Pool was beautiful and concierge service excellent (you chat via a QR code for instant response to any request).
The only critique was the location - highly inaccessible, about 1km from the main road, up a steep, narrow and winding road. You definitely need your own driver or a scooter. Night time drives up/down were dangerous as the roads were largely unlit.
Within the resort, you either need to climb up steep slopes all the time, or call for a buggy. We had no issue with this, but it's not suitable for the disabled or families with children.
Overall, excellent stay we will remember for a long time. This resort is perfect for couples seeking a quiet and luxurious getaway.

The hotel itself is gorgeous it’s just the location is very sparse and not convenient. We had no bottled water left in the room and room service was closed I tried to call the front desk but no answer. There’s a lack of commitment to hospitality here and that’s the main aspect of hotels and establishments alike. Most drinks I tried to order they didn’t have. The food menu is overpriced and the food isn’t good either. The management needs to rectify these issues. I for one won’t be staying here again and that’s a shame because it really is a beautiful place to stay

I had a lovely stay. The view from the pool was spectacular. The room was specious and clean. The water pressure was great. No problem with the wifi. The service was exceptional. No complaints at all. Thank you all the staff for being so kind and gentle.

We stayed at Mantra twice (Love Ocean View room and Samui Ocean Suite room) during our 1 month holiday in Samui. The view from the resort is stunning. Definitely one of the best pool (with fantastic view) we’ve been so far during our stay in Samui. Both types of rooms are beautiful, large and clean. Love Ocean View room has a huge balcony with day beds and feels newer than the Samui Ocean Suite. However, Samui Ocean Suite is located right where the pool is so very convenient if you don’t mind a small balcony.
We’ve read some reviews which complained about the location of the resort but that did not bother us at all. We had a rental car and in fact, the location was perfect for us. It was merely a short drive to Bophut, Chaweng and Bangrak areas but far enough from the road and touristy sections to enjoy peace and quiet while at the resort. We love the fact it was up the slope as that’s how you get such a gorgeous view.
Staff at the resort were very attentive and friendly. Love the Tuesday curry night. Great curry at a very reasonable price. Only comment would be the wine selection at the restaurant can be improved. Breakfast spread was great for us. Love the different detox juices they have at breakfast buffet.
Will certainly stay here again when we next visit Samui.
