Great stay at Rummana. Location isn't exactly the best on the beach, but it's much more peaceful and relaxed than the main area, and still has solid options for dining and such.

Friendly stuff, beautiful view, comfy bed. But Koh Samui has changed a lot in bad way. So dissappointed.

The resort is on Lamai Beach. Almost all Europeans live in the hotel, especially French and Germans, with very few Chinese. The deepest feeling is that the roads inside the resort are very winding. If you walk at night, although there are lights, it will be a bit scary. The room still has an old-fashioned bathtub with a shower, which means you need to stand in the bathtub to take a shower. The hotel has its own rental motorcycle, and the cheapest one is 250 baht, but the resort's bill only shows 50 baht, and the other 200 baht should be paid to the car rental company, so when checking out, the front desk handwritten a receipt as Reimbursement for use. On the first day I rented a car, I went to the city center. Unfortunately, I was caught by the police without wearing a helmet and was fined 500 baht. But this has something to do with the hotel, because when I rented the car, I asked the hotel if they had helmets. The hotel said they did, but they didn't give them to me. Later, when I brought the ticket to the front desk and asked for an explanation, the front desk said they didn't know I was going to the city, so they didn't give it to me, and they didn't say they would bear the fine. This made me a little angry. There is a Guan Gong Temple nearby. You can go and see it. It is very majestic.

Nice beach, very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast buffet, rooms very clean, plenty of sun lounges, food in the restaurant very nice, Not many shops but you can take a taxi to Lamai night markets or Lamai central, lots of restaurants and shops there.

We stayed at the Rummana for 3 nights. Initially we experienced some issues with our rooms which meant we had to change rooms 3 times, which was very frustrating for us at the time. However, throughout all of this, the staff were very friendly and accommodating and kindly offered us an upgrade and a complementary meal as compensation, which was lovely! Nice pool area overlooking the beach. We'd recommend the restaurant. The deluxe villas are a bit dated and had some cleanliness issues. The rummana villas with garden view were a massive improvement.

Asked for a second key, as my husband and I planned doing different things during the day. Reception replied only 1 key allowed ! You can come to Reception if can't find husband and we open for you....Unbelievable! Moreover there is no way to leave the Aircon to cool the room when your out as this is activated by door key....result....stuffy, overheated rooms...and we both caught bad colds as we needed to leave the Aircon at night (something I never do !) Result we both caught really bad colds, that ruined our stay... The hotel layout is in a (very) long "corridor" of tropical garden....which seems great at first...except there is no air circulation....even if its windy on the beach you feel like you are in a tropical jungle...aka 98 % degrees humidity and extremely uncomfortable! The pool area looks like a through back from the 80's with dark furniture and a small pool shoved up a corner.... Would I come back....Never !

I had a great stay at Rummana, I stayed in one of the ‘Rummana Villas’. The room was clean and well presented. The hotel is peaceful and quiet with a nice pool and it leads directly on to the beach. The sea was calm so ideal for swimming and snorkelling. It is easy to get into Lamai from the hotel, it is about a 15-minute walk along the beach or a 5-minute drive. The manager and all of the staff at Rummana were very friendly and helpful. I had booked to stay for a month but I liked it so much I decided to extend it and stayed even longer. I would definitely recommend Rummana!

We stayed here from 12/7-27/7, in two rooms (306&307). The resort is wonderful and we had the most amazing 2 weeks here. The rooms were just perfect, everything you need and very clean and tidy. The house keepers do a fantastic job! The resort is very calm and tranquil and half the time we didn’t see another soul. We were often the only family lying round the pool area. The two weeks we stayed there were no noisy children or rowdy adults, no pool water sports or loud music, it was just perfect for lazing around, chilling and reading. The restaurant menu is basic, but everything we tried was very nice and not much dearer than out on the street. Drinks from the bar were also very reasonable for a hotel. Breakfast buffet is good- it has everything such as eggs cooked how you like, fresh fruits, cheeses, hams, pastries, bread and jam etc and tea/coffee/juices. The waiters/waitresses and barmen are what makes this hotel, they are a real asset and go above and beyond to help make your holiday as perfect as can be. They are very attentive, work very hard and we are grateful to them for everything they did for us. The location of the resort is why we chose it. It is directly on Lamai beach, which is totally gorgeous! The resort is at the far end of Lamai beach, away from all the hustle and bustle but that’s what made it for us. The beach was quiet, however it was only about a 15-20 min walk along the beach to the main high street, where all the restaurants and bars etc were. We wandered up there a few times and then got a taxi back (400bht each way). Just outside the resort, on the main road are local restaurants and a few shops, 2 mini markets being some of them. We ate in the Elephant one over the road and Pink Orchid round the corner, and both were incredibly cheap and very delicious. On the beach, each side of the resort, are a few restaurants and lots of massage huts. We used them a lot, and the massages were very good. There is a pool at the hotel, but it’s a little run down with tiles needing to be fixed etc and the chlorine was very strong, so we didn’t use it. But when you have the most incredible, crystal blue water to swim in, the pool didn’t get a second look anyway! Would highly recommend this hotel and if we were to ever go to Koh Samui again, there is no where else we’d rather stay! Thank you for making our holiday one to remember 💜

What a beautiful place, it’s quiet and calm, a little oasis away from the busy traffic. As you enter the reception area there is a feeling of calm. The little walkways through to the rooms and eventually to the pool and restaurant area are lovely, intriguing and shady. The staff and owners are kind and caring. They speak very good English and were able to answer all our questions about Thai culture as well as about getting around. The rooms and food were excellent. I would highly recommend.
