ITC Royal Bengal, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Kolkata

The stay at itc sonar was wonderful. The ambience ad grandeur of this property is beyond words. The cuisines served here are excellent. Credit goes to Chef Shubonkar for taking individualistic care. I would like to mention Mr. Sujoy from front office for his help ad arranging the best for me. I would love to visit again.

Beautiful property , excellent stone work , staff are polite and helpful prompt service . Recommend to others for future unconditional pleasure .

Such a good hotel,but they have to improve their service and about their direction should be more clear. And should add good item in room for snacks

Pros : Excellent food options, fabulous breakfast buffet. Enjoyed all Bengali delicacies like kochuri, chholar dal, apur dom and even the fyana bhaat!! Lovely spread. Housekeeping staff were great and prompt. I was following up for something with guest relations which was taking too much time. Asked Biswanath of housekeeping for the same and got it done in 5 minutes! Even other things like refill of tea etc were done very promptly. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Cons: unbelievably inefficient check in service! Rooms were not ready even 2.5 hrs after check in time. We were given a temporary room. I called up twice in the span of 2 hours for the actual room and the guest relation was clueless. They didn't even call back. Finally I had to go down again and stand in that long queue to get it resolved. Before that when I asked a lady staff when I could expect the room, the answer was "I don't know when but we will definitely give you a good room". I have never heard a more non specific and unprofessional response even from 3 star hotel reception staff. Also, there was a change of staff at reception and the person handing over to the next person clearly told the next person that we needed to be shifted to our actual room but clearly the next person was not responsible enough to close the task. If ITC can train their reception and guest relations and ***age the room resources properly, this would definitely be worth a five star. I need to mention here, Rutika from guest relations was the only person who knew how to respond without making a guest exasperated.

Despite a slight hiccup in the beginning, my 4-night stay was nothing short of outstanding. As ***y others have noted, the property is absolutely majestic. You can wander in its sprawling corridors for hours. (maybe because it's so big and busy, the luggage did not reach me quickly after screening on the day of check-in, and I had to go hunt for it although Pratyush ultimately helped me to my room). The first one and a half days there was an issue of overcrowding in the breakfast room and in the lifts because the hotel was almost taken over by a Reliance corporate crowd. This is not really the hotel's fault, but maybe such large crowds can be herded into dedicated spaces so that individual guests are not bothered. Apart from this, the place exudes warmth and friendliness, and the level of courtesy is something I have rarely experienced in other luxury properties. I was upgraded, which of course added to the sense of comfort. However, even without this, I would have felt very welcome and well tended. Certainly, this can be counted as a destination hotel where you can pass days without venturing outside. Everything from room cleanliness to service to food was top-notch. I would love to be back.

I would like to thanks Riddhi Gupta from guest relation team for making my stay a memorable one in ITC royal. She was always welcoming and approachable. She gave a detailed tour of the property and explained the room amenities well. I believe its one of the nicest property of ITC in India. A huge one. I would recommend my friends to visit for sure.
