Akti Palace Hotel

We stayed for 10 days as a young couple at Akti Palace. We were greeted with a complimentary drink on arrival and was given a map and a run down of the hotel by reception. We also had someone to take our bags to our room. The pool area is lovely, there are plenty of loungers and you definitely don’t need to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve them, even late in the afternoon there was always some available. The beach is right next to the pool, where there are also a large amount of sun loungers. You can use the peadlos and kayaks for free and are always available, as well as paying for other water sports but we found these to be a little expensive. There is also a small shop near the beach, as well as in the sister hotels reception, which we made use of both. The main buffet restaurant always had a good variety for breakfast and lunch. We did not eat lunch here as we are at the pool bar every day for lunch as they had gyros, other grilled meats, fruit, salads, which we loved. We found later into our stay that the main buffet restaurant was getting busier for tables, so maybe during peak season this would be even busier. There was one night where the head waiter (we are guessing) shouted at us when sitting down at a table, even though we had done this for the rest of our stay, claiming he had people waiting for tables, even though he did not show anyone to the table. We noticed this happened again later in the stay too, when you do not tend to ‘reserve’ tables in buffet restaurants at all inclusives, so we found this rude and strange. We managed to eat at all 3 al a carte restaurants, but we did not get to choose which day as I think they are only open on certain days. The Asian restaurant was a little disappointing, we were seated at 7pm and had finished by 8pm, the food was nice but tiny portions and was all pre made and rushed. The seas food and Greek restaurants definitely made up for it as the food here was lovely and you honestly get so much food, we could not eat it all! The food is all freshly prepared too and a much better dining experience. The drinks around the hotel and pool were okay. We found the cups by the pool witth soft drinks and cocktails to be quite small so you felt like you were constantly up and down getting drinks. The cocktails are often pre made, but there were occasions where some cocktails were made fresh. There is also only one draft lager available and this is served in a tumbler glass so you end up getting a quarter pint. These things did obviously not ruin our trip at all but just worth noting. The free shuttle bus is honestly such a good addition and so easy to get, takes less than 10 minutes and was always on time. You can also use the facilities at the sister hotel but we didn’t feel the need. Overall, a lovely relaxing holiday in the sun and although previous reviews have claimed this is not a 5* hotel I think you get what you pay for and the small areas of improvement are definitely not going to rui

Me and my friends visited the spa area where we used the pool and the sauna. Maro served us and showed us around the place and helped us with the storage of our personal items. it was the last day of our vacation, so we didn't have time for a massage. but we will definitely go next time.. 😁😁😁😁😁😁

The staff here , have some of the best customer service skills I have ever encountered. Nothing is too much for them, and they go out of their way to make you enjoy your holiday as much as possible. We turned up after 1130 at night, due to flight delays and lots of other issues. The receptionist saw how stressed we were and immediately got our cases sorted along with making sure we got a drink from the bar to take up with us. The room was clean and tidy with a coffee machine and fridge stocked with beer, wine, water and juice, very nice. Bed was amazingly comfy and the pillows were perfect! One negative I would say about the room is, please take an eye mask with you if you like to sleep in the dark! Our room was above a street light and the curtains are not lined, so it's not really dark at night and the sun comes through really early. The main restaurant is buffet style, there are other restaurants, but were quite booked up, so we just used the main one. Food was pretty much the same most days, but they do change the main dishes everyday, ie, lasagne, stew etc. If I had to say anything negative, that is all the meats were overcooked all the time. Couldn't cut my pork chop so fingers it was! Wasn't an issue tbh , just sometimes more chewy than I like. The swimming pool is gorgeous, plenty of sunbeds, so much so that we followed the shade round the pool by charging sunbeds most of the day lol The pool bar is nice, food is good too,, the banana ice cream a particular favourite of mine! The beach is right behind the pool, bit disappointed here I'm afraid. Access to the beach, you do at your own risk. The 'path', is old wooden painted pallets, but the are not even, as I found out when I tripped on one and nearly faceplanted the beach! Also , the beach part looks messy, a lot could be done here if the effort was put in. We walked out to the sea, beware, the shoreline is just riddled with hidden, slippery rocks, but you can go out quite a way before you cannit touch the seabed. We did not stay here long as we didn't find it a pleasant place to sit to be honest. This resort is relaxing and calming. If you want noise and chaos, then you can use the sister hotel next door which is Akti Beach Hotel. In the evenings , the sound from that hotel carries over to our one. I hope I have given a fair opinion of a lovely hotel. It's not perfect, but me and my partner both said we would happily stay here again and we do not normally go back to the same place twice!

We have just returned from a perfect relaxing week holiday at Akti palace. We were initially welcomed late at night by the lovely George who took our cases to our room and offered drinks/food. We found the resort very peaceful (just what we needed) but we had the opportunity to go to the other Akti resort for more entertainment if necessary for the children. We never had to rush to get sunbeds, always lots available and made most of the free water sports available- great little perk! The waiters/waitresses also work hard to clear tables and get you drinks. The food at lunch was more flame grilled meat and salad which we enjoyed and the dinner was a variation of buffet options. Top tip is to book into the other restaurants as soon as you arrive as we nearly missed out on this opportunity due to our dates and capacity. We also visited Karmeda by using the free resort bus service - worked well and only a short distance away. Only constructive feedback is to perhaps have more food options for children. Especially if offering child places! We are considering coming back as enjoyed it so much!

Akti Palace is a beautiful well maintained hotel in a lovely setting but it l lacks “Greekness” it could’ve been anywhere in the world . The rooms were lovely and the foods plentiful though the Akti beach food is far superior. The majority of the staff have little or no interest in the guests and we found the Head Waiter very rude. When I asked him for a cereal spoon one morning he said find a table and you’ll find a spoon and he walked away. We’d obviously not have been getting food if we didn’t have a table . Kardamena itself is a beautiful place though and the free shuttle bus was a Godsend
