If you’re looking for a view like no other this is the place for you. The infinity pool and its beautiful views would be hard to beat anywhere. Overall a beautiful hotel, rooms excellent and all areas of hotel stunning - clean, new and well maintained. Staff very friendly and helpful however a few points that need to be clearer: On checkout day you need to book a slot to use the hotel shower room and this wasn’t mentioned until we asked where the shower room was on the last day. Lucky there was a slot. WIFI is great but none of the applications on the tv work (Netflix, Amazon etc) You have to stay a minimum of 7 nights to be able to book the restaurants here which isn’t stated on the TUI website. We stayed 4 nights but when we looked at the booking app there was nothing available for the next 3 nights either so please book the day you arrive! Location is extremely quiet - you need to hire a car or use the local bus - we found the bus service great they always turned up on time and very cheap at 1.60 euro per person into Kos Town (15 min journey) If you don’t do steps - don’t stay here. There are many inside the hoteldown to the pools and also down to the private beach. Absolutely not a problem for us , but something to consider. The beach is small and pebble but lovely nonetheless and there is a bar down there and lots of loungers and cushions. There is entertainment but this is not 5* standard and it is not every night either. Cocktails are excellent - very strong! Pool bar staff work very hard all day serving the loungers. Food is the biggest gripe here - 5* it is not. There is nothing ‘wrong’ with the food however the hotel states show cooking and themed nights and this is not the case. One chef stands frying eggs. There is no decorative aspect or anything extra on the ‘themed nights’. The deserts are lovely if a little repetitive, baklava, fresh fruit, cakes, mousses etc. The main food is repetitive and not as much choice as you would expect from a 5* hotel at all. Staff in the food hall are a little slow, sometimes we had to ask for cutlery, many times for milk for our tea. And then spoons. This is the area this hotel is lacking in and definitely doesn’t deserve the 5* rating if looking at this area alone. That being said I would probably return for the views……

Myself and my husband really enjoyed our 10night all inclusive stay here. The views and facilities were great and our room was clean and comfortable. The food was fabulous. Over 10 days there were some repetitions, but we definitely thought that there was enough variation throughout and we also didn't miss out on any traditional foods being a 10 minute drive away from town. The staff was incredible and very hard working. Sure there were occasions when someone might have appeared a bit rude or inexperienced, but only a person who never worked in customer service job would give out about these things. Old timers were absolutely wonderful and very attentive, it made us feel special. You also get 3 a la carte meals if you stay 7nights or more. There's a dinner at an asian fusion restaurant, dinner at pool restaurant which has a bit of a french tune to it, and prosecco breakfast there as well. Breakfast wasn't as amazing as dinners though. You absolutely must book these at reception as soon as you're able. The main restaurant has theme nights throughout the week, so I recommend booking a la cart on different dates than those theme nights. Entertainment was great, though it wasn't on every night. I'm not sure if this changes as the season progresses, but if that's your thing, then maybe this place is not for you. Overall I think you need to be a bit strategic if you're staying here because of location. There's not much to do around the hotel, besides walking on the beach. A beach bar venue is currently being built nearby, but it's unclear if they'll finish construction for this season. Taxi into town is 17 euro one way. Bus is €1.80 one way, if I remember correctly, but very unreliable as there are shortages of bus drivers for municipal routes during holiday season. I don't recommend getting shared transfers either. It's about 2 hour drive if you have to stop for other people and less than 1 hour if you drive yourself or are getting private transfer. We focused on rest and pool for first half of the holiday with excursions every second day and once that became a little boring, we rented a car for the last 4 days, which gave us an opportunity to explore the island more without having to hire other excursions. There's a car rental service in the lobby, but their prices seem to be higher than places in town. Do your research. In terms of accessibility. The entire place is on a hill. There are 5 flights of stairs from pool to reception. I often got 6-7k steps just by staying at the hotel and going back and forth from pool to room to food. There is transfer caddy, but you need to ask reception every time you want to use it. Overall we had a fabulous holiday and would come back again

The Michelangelo is a very good, family friendly, all-inclusive resort - I would say a ‘good 4 star’. The rooms are clean, modern and well maintained. Although I do personally think that it is worth paying the extra for a sea-view room - with the 1st/2nd floors of block 17 probably being the prime spots - as they offer amazing views over the legendary infinity pool and across the sea to the Turkish coast. The evening entertainment is, let’s say, ‘entertaining’ and great fun. We especially enjoyed the Jersey Tones (3 guys in red jackets) and the Golden Tones (the same three guys, in yellow jackets) - both featuring a guest appearance by ‘Shirley Bassey’! The food is very good; freshly prepared and reasonably varied. And the range of drinks and cocktails on offer, even under ‘all-inclusive’, is good. Although I did take issue with the tonic, in a gin & tonic, being served from large plastic bottles (and therefore most likely to be flat). I suspect that this was the first indication that a few corners are perhaps being cut. Other ‘missing corners’ could be the fact that the Pool Bar by the ‘upper’ pool was closed (maybe it opens later in the season?) - the water features by the restaurant and in the upper pool were either switched off or broken - and the advertised ‘theme nights’ in the restaurant were barely discernible from the normal fare. Having said that, and taking everything into consideration, the Michelangelo offers tremendous value for money and if we were ever to return to Kos it would definitely be on our list.

Pros The views at this hotel are incredible, the infinity pool is breathtaking and really is the selling point of this hotel. The sunrise is worth setting the alarm for, it’s stunning. The staff are friendly and they are hardworking. Although not huge amounts of food what there is is delicious, fresh and tasty. Cons This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, you can get a bus to Kos which is cheap and only 15 minutes away you don’t have the option to go for a walk on an evening which we do enjoy doing and couldn’t do here. The evening entertainment is poor and only on every other night. So once you’ve finished your evening meal it can be a long night. We went half board as we don’t drink much alcohol and the price between half board and all inclusive was vast. We are pleased we did this because those staying all inclusive were disappointed with the choice of drinks offered and that there were extra charges for some drinks and also food. The breakfast, buffet lunch and buffet tea and included for all inclusive but if you want food outside of these times you have to pay which we disagree with, if you’re all inclusive you are all inclusive. Overall we had a nice relaxing holiday but we are pleased we went half board but we wouldn’t return to this hotel.

We had a nice stay and we have to say we still cannot get over the views from the pool/beach. However this hotel did not give us the 5* feel and the main reason for this was the food and dining areas - it was pretty naff all round. For the size of the hotel and the amount of guests the buffet was tiny and some very limited options in all aspects. There was good protein, salads etc however this got very repetitive throughout the week which is fine however the location of the hotel it cost us €17 to get into Kos marina which was a fixed fee each time but the closest area to have a decent meal. The rooms were okay but nothing special and everything is on a hill so if you are a bit older or more on the unfit side it is quite tough walking around the complex. The entertainment was good and engaging which we really enjoyed and the variety of drinks available with all inclusive was very good and of good quality. We liked this hotel but felt the only reason it is 5* is for the incredible view to see from the pool area. It’s a shame to say we wouldn’t choose to stay here again and it mainly because we are major foodies and it really did not live up to our expectations as however I must say it’s a good resort for children and families. I feel for 5* you would expect a lot more from it and although the staff are very attentive and friendly we are not inclined to return for what is supposed to be a more up market resort.

This really isn’t a 5* hotel. Key reasons include quality of food is poor especially, in the two restaurants with the Asian worse than my local Chinese. The variety and quality just isn’t good enough, so we went into Kos Town most evenings - which we highly recommend doing. Hotel rooms are small with other guests having multiple complaints similar to ours. The views really are amazing and a pleasure to wake up to (recommend a room with a sea view) but the hotel isn’t anything special and if anything a little bit tired, it definitely doesn’t have the spectacular feeling you would expect of a 5* star. Service at the front desk is nice and friendly, however in general it is average especially at the food and bar areas. The beach is dark and pebbly, which is no fault of the hotels but expect golden sandy beaches. This underwhelming feeling was shared by a lot of the other guests. If you are expecting proper 5* quality this just isn’t it and you get what you pay for. In reality it’s a 4* at best.

The location, views and the facilities were great, the infinity pool just gorgeous. But... the staff need to be trained better to be more friendly and accommodating. During the breakfast it took ages to get the coffee even when half of the room was empty. Ages to get water or other drinks. Sometimes we felt like we kinda nuisance for them. Even the reception ladies were a bit patronising. Definitely a room for improvement especially if they claim to be a 5 stars, Another thing that no one told us: to have a la carte meal in the restaurant you have to stay at least 7 nights. Really? And this hotel is not suitable for disabled or elderly people - hundreds of steps, you should be quite fit to go to the beach and back Overall beautiful hotel with the views to die for but dont expect to be treated like a welcomed guest.
