Michelangelo is a lovely resort and we enjoyed our stay for 11 nights. We were celebrating my wife’s 30th birthday and had chosen Michelangelo for its amazing reviews and views of the sea. We were allocated a partial sea view bedroom which was spacious, modern, clean and tidy, aside from a pack of cigarettes left in the wardrobe. Daily our room was cleaned and fresh towels and bottles of water was provided. I am unsure if Kos is regularly windy, however there were loud wind blowing noises through our bedroom at night, potentially due to the seals around the front door. There was a birds nest on the corridor wall light just outside our room, which was nice to see, however this did lead to frequently having bird poo all over the floor and wall. There are a number of pools at the hotel, and the main infinity pool is beautiful. Towels are collected on arrival with your tickets. The sun loungers are amazing and very comfortable, and there are also bean bags if unable to find a lounger. It is difficult to find a lounger after 8am. There is also a good amount of loungers on the beach, which is pebbly, and a bar on the sea front too. There is a good selection of food at the main restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food was nice and the waiters are quick to offer water and drinks on arrival. Unfortunately on most occasions, we were left with empty glasses, after our initial orders were finished for long periods of time (I appreciate they had many tables to attend to). For improvement, I feel the hotel could do show cooking/dishes to order (eg omelettes at breakfast) as this is seen at most 5* hotels. There is also a small selection at the snack bar by the pool to have in afternoons including salad, pasta, and chips. They also have a menu to order from which is not included in the all inclusive. There is also a help yourself cart of free ice cream with multiple flavours. Soya Al a carte was lovely and would highly recommend the bao buns and the sweet & sour chicken. Mediterraneo Al a carte was good, service was very good however evening was let down a very disappointing lamb dish which was tough, chewy and inedible. The service was great following this and provided another meal free of charge. The bars are spacious however when the entertainment is playing, it is difficult to find a seat. The bar staff are fantastic, and work tirelessly to provide drinks and clean your table. The entertainment was good, ranging from tribute acts (drifters, il divo and Lionel Richie to name a few) to Greek traditional dancing. There is a good selection of alcoholic and soft drinks at the bars, with a good range of cocktails. We were a little disappointed at the very restricted list of non alcoholic cocktails/beer/wine. This would have been utilised a lot by pregnant wife. As it was my wife’s 30th birthday, I had sent 2 emails and had a face to face conversation with guest relations on arrival, to see if there was any way to arrange a celebration. The hote
