Hotel and grounds were lovely and very well kept, staff were helpful, friendly (always smiled and were polite) and all spoke an excellent quality of English. I've seen from other reviews that the pools were cold and while its true they were not heated, we had temperatures of 28 - 32°, everyday, so a cold pool was bliss. The hotel attracts travellers mainly from Germany, Poland and the UK so in regard to food, while not always to English taste (e.g. breakfast had frankfurters rather than an english sausage) was a good quality and plentiful with a varied choice. To give a typical spread for the evening meal - cod, chicken, pork (each in various sauces which change each night), various veg (they love a Brussel Sprout 😄, but also green beans, okra, Carrots, brocoli), potatoes, in various guises (mash, chips, wedges, bravas), 2 types of pasta (e.g. spaghetti and penne) and usually 2 types of sauce (e.g. tomato or carbonara), loads and loads of salad, coleslaw, dressings, sauces etc or you make your own up with the various salad components (peppers, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, etc). Plenty of fresh fruit and puddings, which are incredibly sweet (diabetics beware!) but putting this in perspective anyone who has had Baclava knows that its crazy sweet and one of the islands main products is honey. My daughter has coeliac and didn't have any major issues with eating, but being all inclusive very, very fussy eaters might not agree. Greek night was great fun for both food and entertainment however entertainment in general is a little lacking for our tastes (quiz nights, a beach disco, one night of live music) although we were wanting a quiet, relaxing time so not a problem, but if entertainment is a big deal for you keep this in mind. Our room was good, a little tired, but perfectly serviceable for what we wanted, right opposite a pool and the inclusion of a little fridge despite this not being listed on the room amenities was great. The room was cleaned every day! With sheets and towels changed everyday too. Overall we had a fantastic time at the Gaia Palace. Can only speak for the adult aspects of the hotel as we didn't have young children with us. However we plan to return next year with all the family and frankly can't wait.
