First some warning : I read a lot of reviews of the “unique temple experience”. Well it’s not: you stay in a large luxurious room with comfy western beds, you will eat a multi course vegetarian meal and in the morning you get to see 3 monks praying. I never had the feeling to be a part of a monks way of living ! Now the review: Rooms are really large with 2 beds and a tatami seating area. Private toilet. The bathroom is shared and only open between 19h30 and 21h. Meals : they look gorgeous. But where is the taste ? Many gelatin like pieces with no taste. Tofu zero taste,…. Only liked some grilled vegetables and the miso soup. Breakfast: same thing. If you are hungry, bring your own food. Prayer: 30min of prayer with 3 monks. Feeled more like a performance because you don’t get any explanation. Location is perfect. One day is enough to see the beautiful surroundings.
